Musk denies providing Starlink to Russia
Ukraine has claimed that the Russian military is using the satellite connection devices on the frontline
Musk denies providing Starlink to Russia

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has denied supplying his Starlink satellite internet network to Russian troops. The service has been widely used by the Ukrainian army during its fight with Russia.

“A number of false news reports claim that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia,” Musk said on his platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday. “To the best of our knowledge, no Starlinks have been sold directly or indirectly to Russia.”

Asked if Starlink terminals can be somehow activated from Russia, Musk replied that “Starlink satellites will not close the link in Russia.”

Musk’s comments come in response to Kiev’s claims that Russian forces are using Starlink satellite service on the battlefield. Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense (GUR) said on Sunday that it had intercepted a conversation between Russian soldiers. It released a 15-second recording, in which a person can be heard saying in Russian “Starlink is working, we have internet [access].”

GUR spokesman Andrey Yusov claimed that Russian troops are “systematically” using Starlink terminals. The military-themed news website Defense One cited Ukrainian sources this week as saying that Kiev’s forces first detected the use of Starlink by Russia “several months ago.”

Moscow has not commented on the allegations. SpaceX released a separate statement on Thursday, saying that the company “does not do business of any kind with the Russian government or its military” and has “never sold or marketed Starlink in Russia, nor has it shipped equipment to locations in Russia.”

Musk donated some 20,000 Starlink terminals to Kiev shortly after Russia launched its military operation in the neighboring state in February 2022.

The billionaire, however, said that he had refused Ukraine’s request to activate Starlink service in Crimea, explaining that Kiev’s attacks on the Russian Black Sea Fleet would lead to more escalation. While pledging support for Ukraine, Musk has repeatedly said that he favors a peaceful resolution of the conflict

Kremlin feared Carlson would face ‘persecution’

The West is becoming increasingly unpredictable and “could stoop to anything,” Dmitry Peskov has claimed

Moscow was concerned that US journalist Tucker Carlson could face “persecution” even before his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has revealed.

In an interview released by journalist Pavel Zarubin on Sunday, Peskov noted that it was Carlson who asked Putin for a sit-down, adding that the president quickly agreed to the idea.

However, the spokesman admitted that “there was some concern that there would be some kind of persecution of poor Carlson even before the interview,” given that the West “is becoming increasingly unpredictable and could stoop to anything.”

He noted that the journalist is no stranger to this kind of pressure, saying Carlson is smart enough to know that “emotions would run high.” The interview, however, brought the reporter a lot of popularity, according to the spokesman.

Peskov also responded to critics who accused the journalist of not asking Putin tough questions. “Western viewers were lucky that Carlson did not escalate… If the questions had been extremely sharp, so would have been the answers. Some might not have liked that.”

The spokesman noted that Putin’s interview has generated a great deal of interest in the West despite US attempts to downplay its significance. Officials in Washington, he added, “don’t want Putin’s true worldview to be accessible to ordinary Americans… but this cannot be suppressed.”

Carlson released the interview with Putin on Thursday. He had previously stated that his duty is “to inform people,” especially when it comes to the Ukraine conflict, since many Americans have little knowledge about “a war they are implicated in.”

In the two-hour interview, which has garnered tens of millions of views, the Russian leader described in detail how modern Ukraine – which he called an “artificial state” – was established by the actions of the Soviet authorities. He also explained that the conflict between Moscow and Kiev is rooted in the Western-backed coup in 2014 and the Ukrainian government’s campaign to suppress the population of Donbass. The region, along with two other former Ukrainian territories, voted to join Russia in 2022.

The interview drew sharp criticism in the West. Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Carlson a “useful idiot” who parrots Putin’s narrative. Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson – who has been accused of derailing Ukraine peace talks early on in the conflict – called the reporter a “traitor to journalism.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has called the US and Western reaction to the interview “hysteria” which “reveals the mendacity of their approach.”

Giving Kiev more money ‘insane’ and ‘cruel’ – Tucker Carlson

Continued Western aid will only result in more dead Ukrainians, not Russian defeat, the journalist has predicted
Giving Kiev more money ‘insane’ and ‘cruel’ – Tucker Carlson

US senators who intend to send an additional $60 billion in aid to Ukraine will be voting for the continued slaughter of Ukrainians, since the country cannot win against Russia, even with Western assistance, US journalist Tucker Carlson said on Monday.

The Senate voted 66-33 this week to overcome a procedural hurdle, clearing the way for an international security package to be put to a vote, potentially as soon as Wednesday. The roughly $95 billion emergency spending proposal is meant for Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine. Even if passed, local media expect the bill to have a hard time passing the House, where Republican opposition to funding Kiev is stronger than in the Senate.

Carlson, a long-time skeptic of Washington’s Ukraine policy, which he believes to be short-sighted and self-destructive, blasted the proposed legislation ahead of his interview with JD Vance, the junior US senator from Ohio. He argued that anyone paying attention has been aware of Kiev’s desperate position for months.

”Ukraine doesn’t have the industrial capacity – neither does NATO or the United States. And it doesn’t have the people – Russia has 100 million more in population than Ukraine does. And that means that further support from the West for the Ukrainian military only means more dead Ukrainians and a further degraded Western economy,” he claimed.

Given these facts, pushing for more funding is “insane,” “cruel” and morally indefensible, Carlson added.

The interview with Vance was about the Republican senator’s theory that the bill, promoted by the Democrats, is meant to undermine Donald Trump’s attempt to secure a second term. It would authorize spending for longer than just 2024, so whoever wins in November will be legally obliged to keep financing the Ukrainian military, even if doing so would undermine the goal of winding down the conflict diplomatically, he believes.

Senator Vance has warned that the bill, if signed into law, could potentially be used to justify yet another impeachment of Trump. He explained his reasoning in The American Conservative and a memo he sent to fellow Republican lawmakers.

During the interview with Carlson, Vance agreed with the journalist’s assessment of the situation in Ukraine and claimed that privately, Democratic senators agree with it too.

”They say effectively that they want to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian drop of blood,” he said.

”I think if you really ask these guys, they’d recognize that this is not in the best interest of Ukraine. This is fundamentally in the interests of military contractors and people who think that America’s most pressing challenge is to defeat the Russians,” he added, stressing that he was not one of those people.

Russia Unveils Drone Neural Network to Detect NATO Equipment in Special Op Zone

Various types of drones currently in service with the Russian Armed Forces are designed for many purposes, including surveillance and precision strikes.
The Russian company Hardberry-Rusfactor has developed a multipurpose neural network for all types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), will enable the identification of Ukrainian military objects in the special operation zone, General Director Alexey German told Sputnik.
"We has mapped out a software called NAKA, which is actually a neural network that recognizes сertain objects, including enemy equipment," he said.

In particular, he explained, the neural network is capable of accurately detecting the Ukrainian army's Western-supplied military hardware, such as Leopard tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

According to the general director of Hardberry-Rusfactor, the software of the network is installed on the equipment that receives the video recorded by the Russian drones equipped with special cameras.
"For example, an UAV transmits a relevant footage to the operator’s console, where NAKA highlights a certain area of the terrain in green and writes: This is a Leopard tank (or a Bradley armed vehicle) with the 85 percent accuracy," German said, adding that the network also can determine exact whereabouts of the aforementioned vehicles.

He did not rule out the possibility of NAKA being used for peaceful purposes in the future, such as being installed on agricultural drones to search for stranded animals.
The drones are used in the Russian special operation zone to target various Ukrainian military assets, including howitzers, armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, as well as command and observation posts.

Russia's move is nothing surprising.
This is yet more proof that I am doing the right thing – the #EU's strong support to #Ukraine is a success and it hurts Russia.

I've always said Russia's toolbox hasn't changed.

Throughout history, Russia has veiled its repressions behind so-called law enforcement agencies.

I know this from my family history. When my grandmother and mother were deported to Siberia, the KGB issued the arrest warrant

The Kremlin now hopes this move will help to silence me and others – but it won't.

The opposite. I will continue my strong support to Ukraine. I will continue to stand for increasing Europe's defence.

Maria Zakharova:

“The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Estonian Secretary of State Taimar Peterkop on the wanted list for destroying monuments to Soviet soldiers.

The liberators of the world from Nazism and fascism must answer for crimes against memory! And this is just the beginning.”

"From 11:30
today there is a powerful attack on the Selidovo training ground.
The first stage involved the use of cluster munitions for 20 minutes.

Soon the Ukrainian military arrived to collect and transport the wounded and dead and immediately came under new cluster fire.

As of 12:40,
shelling and detonation of ammunition continues."
