INFORMATION DAY : - Five things you did not know about the new Santiago Bernabéu 🤩 - 1. The club expect to host events 300 days of the year at their stadium once it's completed, including concerts, business conferences, e-sports tournaments and even basketball and tennis matches. The secret to having such a multifunctional stadium is the Bernabéu's retractable pitch, which can be withdrawn after matches to enable the club to hold any number of events not related to football. - 2. The new Bernabeu roof will make the stadium less colder during winter and help maintain an ideal temperature for fans to watch the game. The Bernabeu used to implement more than 1300 natural gas heaters in the past to keep an ideal temperature during a match in cold temperatures. The new stadium will still keep its infrared heaters but they will not run on natural gas anymore. To keep it more nature-friendly, renewable energy sources will now be used instead. - 3. In order for the spectators to find a quick accommodation in their seats, the club will deploy an attention plan on the outskirts of the stadium to correctly direct them towards the destination gates. The changing rooms are already operational and will be sealed to avoid COVID infections according to La Liga regulations. Next week, a multitude of lines of work that have been paralyzed since yesterday will be activated again. - 4. Another feature is a roof which can be completely closed over, giving visitors the chance of a panoramic view of the city from the top of its most iconic stadium. - 5. The new Bernabéu also boasts state of the art technology which can project images onto the entire outside surface of the stadium, as well as a 360-degree scoreboard inside the stadium. - 6. Another secret which Real Madrid have kept under wraps is the addition of an extra tier inside the stadium, which will provide an extra 4,000 seats. - 7. A shopping centre will be attached to the stadium, with a Real Madrid museum, multinational shops and various Michelin star restaurants, and the Plaza Sagrados Corazones has been pedestrianised, providing a green space for fans to meet before the match. - The new Bernabéu is going to set to be the benchmark for all modern stadium moving forward.
