Ex-British PM Tony Blair to visit Malawi[/h]
Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, is expected to make a visit to Malawi this month end which will be another boost to the presidency of Mrs Joyce Banda.
A senior government official confided to Nyasa Times that Blair is scheduled to hold talks with President Banda on August 30.
However, officials in the Foreign Affairs Ministry could not give more details of the programme of Blairs visit.
We are planning around his programme, said a senior government official.
I can confirm that Tony Blair is coming to Malawi and will hold talks with President Joyce Banda on August 30, the source added.

Blair is also expected to hold talks with other government officials and various stakeholders.
Blair runs the Africa Governance Initiative Foundation which wants to work with the Malawi government. The meetings will focus on areas Malawi government and the Foundation can work together, the official told Nyasa Times.
The source also disclosed that Blair will be at an investment forum which is being organised by Ministry of Trade and Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
He wants to work with Malawi on a number of issues, said the top government official.
Minister of Foreign Affairs said government will communicate the details of Blairs visit to the nation later.
Blairs foundation partners with Presidents in Africa who are committed to making government work for the benefit of their people.
The Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative (AGI), founded in 2008, is pioneering a new way of working with African countries, equipping committed African leaders with the capacity to deliver the public services which their citizens have a right to expect, to tackle deep-rooted poverty, and to attract the sustainable investment to build strong economies for the future.
