Announcing an end to power rationing in the country, the Deputy Minister of Energy declared that the third month would mark the conclusion of the long-standing issue.
"The Julius Nyerere power project is one of the projects being executed with great professionalism. We all know that we were expecting to commission turbine number 9 in June this year, but through the efforts of the government and contractors, we were able to adjust the schedule to commission this turbine in February. Yesterday, we successfully conducted comprehensive tests on turbine number 9 and pushed it to its final capacity of 235 megawatts," stated Judith Kapinga, Deputy Minister of Energy.
She further added that"We promised to commission this turbine this month, and that schedule remains intact. We are very grateful to Tanzanians for their patience. Electricity usage depends on our production levels; this month, with 235 megawatts being generated, power rationing will significantly decrease. In the third month, we will produce another 235 megawatts, totaling 470 megawatts. By the third month, power rationing will be a thing of the past in the country,"
