If you think living in slums was worse you should go to South Africa. Blacks live in shacks, but they've got everything from a flat screen tv, fridge, washing machine to expensive cars you name it in those shacks. Their government cares for them. They have flushing toilets, clean tap water safe to drink! A public hospital in a small South African town is way way better than Aga Khan, TMJ - it's at least what a relative of mine who had gone to SA to deliver a baby told me. Slums and shacks don't mean anything. In SA for instance the government is building houses for free for people living in shacks. Some countries have started to build multi storey buildings to get rid of slums. We can get there that's if we walk the talk. Propaganda won't get us anywhere
I do not get you! What are you trying to communicate here? Are you saying living in shacks with flat screen and whatever you mentioned in South Africa is worse compared to living in Mumbai slums with cholera, rats and filthy in a hut? There is poverty in Africa, yes, the issue is do we know the real cause of this misery to our African societies and to the rest of the world? What is our capacity as third world countries in fighting poverty? Is ground for the fight fair, can we stretch to wherever we want without impediments? Is 'International World' real cares about eradicating poverty? Is there any commitment from so called donor countries? It is time,we people of the third world to unite our brains and fingers to find out who is real behind this situation and take him away with our bare hands respectively.
