England U21s manager Gareth Southgate has been instructed by Manchester United to not reveal the full details of Luke Shaws current injury problems which led to him being left out of the U21s squad for this summers European Championships
The 19-year-old suffered from concussion against Crystal Palace and subsequently missed the home game against Arsenal as he ther failed to recover from the head injury he suffered.
However, there are suggestions that Shaws injury could be worse than previously thought and it has led to Louis van Gaal protecting him by keeping the news out of the press.
When asked if he felt Shaw could recover from concussion in time for the European Championships, Southgate said: I cannot answer that. These young players are not ours, we dont own them.
