Today the vast majority of Christians assume that the New Testament accurately reflects the authentic words and teachings of Jesus.
It is also the case, however, that the vast majority of Christians are unaware of the historical processes behind the formation of the New Testament canon. Many do not realise that there was a time when the New Testament canon (i.e., an authoritative collection of books) simply did not exist.
Jesus did not write the New Testament; neither did he instruct his followers to write a New Testament. Thus, the New Testament canon did not come into being by the direct instruction of Jesus, nor of anyone so authorised by him.
In fact, there is no one person, Church Council or Christian community which can claim to have originated the canon of the New Testament.
The canonicity of many books of the New Testament were still being vigorously debated hundreds of years after the departure of Jesus, and, in fact, this debate continues to this very day.
Given these well acknowledged facts, it is somewhat perplexing to find the missionaries and apologists identifying their canon of the Bible (i.e., Protestant Bible) as authoritative.
If one surveys their literature, one would be inclined to think that the twenty-seven book canon of the New Testament simply dropped out of the sky not long after Jesus departed, to complement the already agreed upon Old Testament canon.
What the missionaries and apologists are less inclined to discuss, is that their exist numerous other "canons" of the Bible, and, the respective churches which represent these canons all make the same truth claim – our canon of scripture is the "divinely inspired" word of God.

Canon Of The Bible
One of the more incontrovertible issues confronting any serious study of the Bible is the glaring historical vacuum of consensus over what constitutes a legitimate canon.
Much like the early theological controversies, the Church was plagued from its very infancy with heated debates over what precisely qualified as "scripture".
Indeed, the widespread division over the most basic elements of Christian faith led each of the major doctrinal factions to champion their own versions of an "inspired scripture".
The extent of this disagreement was only to intensify with the coming of the Reformation.
The ensuing secession by Protestant Christians (themselves later to explode into literally tens of doctrinally distinct denominations) ensured that these major divisions would remain into perpetuity.
Perhaps not surprisingly, this less than flattering problem of multiple canons is conveniently exempted from the literature of missionary Christianity. The reasons for this range from humble ignorance (itself admittedly less humble in proportion) to the more subtle means of diplomatic guile so perfected by missionary propagandists. It is our aim to fill this factual void with a few helpful resources. Honest readers will conclude that it requires no stretch of the imagination nor any excercise of lofty reasoning to acknowledge some very serious problems in what Christians call "The Word of God".
It is our aim here to educate people about the evolution of Biblical Canon and to show that in the absence of any agreed set of books as "inspired" and the reasons of why they can be considered as "inspired", there is simply no reason to believe they are "inspired". Putting it quite succintly: one man's scripture is another man's apocrypha.

Take for example the case where a companion of the Prophet drinks his blessed urine, only to discover that she has now been shielded completely from the fire of Hell!
Imam Suyyuti narrates an authentic report in his al-Khasaa’is al-Kubra, vol. 2, page 253 (published by Daar al-Kutub al-Arabiy — some other online editions have this narration in vol. 2, page 441):
وَأخرج الطَّبَرَانِيّ وَالْبَيْهَقِيّ بِسَنَد صَحِيح عَن حكيمة بنت أُمَيْمَة عَن أمهَا قَالَت كَانَ للنَّبِي صلى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلم قدح من عيدَان يَبُول فِيهِ ويضعه تَحت سَرِيره فَقَامَ فَطَلَبه فَلم يجده فَسَأَلَ عَنهُ فَقَالَ أَيْن الْقدح قَالُوا شربته برة خَادِم أم سَلمَة الَّتِي قدمت مَعهَا من أَرض الْحَبَشَة فَقَالَ النَّبِي صلى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسلم لقد احتظرت من النَّار بحظار
And Tabarani and Bayhaqi narrated with an authentic chain of transmissionfrom Hukaymah daughter of Umaymah from her mother (Umaymah) who said, the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) had a wooden bowl in which He used to urinate which was placed under his bed. One night he searched for it but did not find it and asked for it saying, “Where is the bowl?” The members of the house replied “Barrah, the slave girl of Umm Salamah, drank it.” (Barrah had come with Umm Salamah from Habashah with her.)
The Prophet (S) replied, “Surely she has protected herself from the fire with a great wall!”

Keep in mind that this was not an isolated incident. As pointed out in the article by brother Munawwar:
Imam Abu Nu’aym narrates the practice of Anas RA, with his chain, who said: ‘The Messenger of Allah used to pray salah at his house and made it long. Once, He SAW urinated in the well, which was situated inside the house. Anas said: ‘there was no well in Madinah which tasted more cool and sweet than it’. He said: ‘when the sahabah come to my house I serve them with the sweet water of that well. In the era of jahiliyyah it was known as al-Barud, ‘the cool well’’’.
How fortunate and blessed were the companions of the Prophet (S) who could secure their place in Heaven by drinking our Prophet’s blessed urine!
Indeed as the Glorious Qur’an states: “Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?” (Surah ar-Rahmaan)
So without doubt our Ummah is in complete agreement with the statement of Sayyid Muhammad al-Yaqubi who stated in London a few years ago that “I wish I was His urine which passed out of Him; pure and a cure.”
To conclude, I’ll leave you with this statement from the scholar, mystic and exegete, Isma’eel Haqqi al-Barusi who says in His exegesis of the Qur’an titled ‘Rooh al-Bayan’: “His noble hair is from the vegetation of Paradise, his saliva is from the honey of Paradise, and His urine, as some of our wise men say, is the water of Paradise.” Scholars' Pen: The Prophet's Urine

Imam Abu Nu’aym narrates the practice of Anas RA, with his chain, who said: ‘The Messenger of Allah used to pray salah at his house and made it long. Once, He SAW urinated in the well, which was situated inside the house. Anas said: ‘there was no well in Madinah which tasted more cool and sweet than it’. He said: ‘when the sahabah come to my house I serve them with the sweet water of that well. In the era of jahiliyyah it was known as al-Barud, ‘the cool well’’’.
How fortunate and blessed were the companions of the Prophet (S) who could secure their place in Heaven by drinking our Prophet’s blessed urine!
Indeed as the Glorious Qur’an states: “Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?” (Surah ar-Rahmaan)
So without doubt our Ummah is in complete agreement with the statement of Sayyid Muhammad al-Yaqubi who stated in London a few years ago that “I wish I was His urine which passed out of Him; pure and a cure.”
To conclude, I’ll leave you with this statement from the scholar, mystic and exegete, Isma’eel Haqqi al-Barusi who says in His exegesis of the Qur’an titled ‘Rooh al-Bayan’: “His noble hair is from the vegetation of Paradise, his saliva is from the honey of Paradise, and His urine, as some of our wise men say, is the water of Paradise.” Scholars' Pen: The Prophet's Urine

Canon Of The Bible
One of the more incontrovertible issues confronting any serious study of the Bible is the glaring historical vacuum of consensus over what constitutes a legitimate canon.
Much like the early theological controversies, the Church was plagued from its very infancy with heated debates over what precisely qualified as "scripture".
Indeed, the widespread division over the most basic elements of Christian faith led each of the major doctrinal factions to champion their own versions of an "inspired scripture".
The extent of this disagreement was only to intensify with the coming of the Reformation.
The ensuing secession by Protestant Christians (themselves later to explode into literally tens of doctrinally distinct denominations) ensured that these major divisions would remain into perpetuity.
Perhaps not surprisingly, this less than flattering problem of multiple canons is conveniently exempted from the literature of missionary Christianity. The reasons for this range from humble ignorance (itself admittedly less humble in proportion) to the more subtle means of diplomatic guile so perfected by missionary propagandists. It is our aim to fill this factual void with a few helpful resources. Honest readers will conclude that it requires no stretch of the imagination nor any excercise of lofty reasoning to acknowledge some very serious problems in what Christians call "The Word of God".
It is our aim here to educate people about the evolution of Biblical Canon and to show that in the absence of any agreed set of books as "inspired" and the reasons of why they can be considered as "inspired", there is simply no reason to believe they are "inspired". Putting it quite succintly: one man's scripture is another man's apocrypha.
Early Lists Of The Books Of The New Testament
Below are the lists of the books drawn that were drawn by various Church authorities showing, in their opinion, what constituted the extent of New Testament. The list is till the end of 4th century.
