In terms of figures, YES lakini linapokuja suala la ustawi wa jamii, US ipo mbali sana as compared to China.

According to recent statistics USA have 45m poor people who cannot afford a decent meal in a day. Now guess who are they or most of them? This is an entire population of Tanzania!!!!

45 Million Americans Still Stuck Below Poverty Line: Census - 45 Million Americans Still Stuck Below Poverty Line: Census
I am not sure if what I meant in my post is there're no poor people in US! Any country, with big population, there's no way all people will have good living standard, that's one! Second, when you read through your link, there's this sentence:
The annual income threshold for being counted as living in poverty was $11,490 last year for a person and $23,550 for a family of four."
This mean, anyone with monthly income equal or less than $ 957 is considered to be living below the poverty line... but if we halve it to $ 478, it'd be still good income in Tanzania. However, let's for get about it for a little while and let's turn back to China!

According to International Business Times, IBTimes UK | Latest UK News | Breaking News | Business, Technology, Political & Sport News - International Business Times UK, More than 82 million people in China live below the poverty line. YES, percentage wise, China seems to be much better than US, coz' 45 million people is almost 14.5% of total US population while 82 million people in China is almost 6% of total population! However, the source continues:
Zheng Wenkai said that poor Chinese people live with less than $1 (£0.63) a day
This means that, China's below poverty line is drawn at $ 30 a month as compared to US's $ 957. So, if both sources are correct, then you can imagine how many people in China would be considered as living below the poverty line if US standard is used!

Anyway, let's forget about US standard (US national below poverty line) and concentrate to international standard, the source reveals:
...and (Zheng)added that the number would rise to more than 200 million if international standards of poverty were applied!"
Remember, still we're talking of international poverty line standard and not US standard. What's international poverty line standard, here the World Bank Poverty - Poverty & Equality Data FAQs reveals:
The values of the international poverty line (e.g. $1.25, $2, $4, or $5 a day) represent different standards of what poverty means. The $1.25 a day poverty line (in 2005 PPP $) is the extreme poverty line and represents the poverty line typical of the world’s poorest countries... For the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECA) region, the $5 a day poverty line is often used.
Which means, if use $5/day as a poverty line in China, this will eventually becomes $ 150 a month, six times lower as compared to US's $ 957.

And what kind of poverty affecting China, IBT continues:
The poverty-stricken population not only suffer from low income but also face various difficulties in getting drinking water, roads, electricity, education, medical care and loans
news agency AFP quoted him (Zheng) as saying during a press conference...

Zheng Wenkai continues:
It's a tough nut to crack. Poverty is a weak point for our goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020
.But who's Zheng? Here we go:
Zheng, who is vice director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, explained that the majority of poor Chinese live in inadequate structures, often in areas prone to natural disasters.
But for me, this might be even more shocking:
According to a report by Wei Shangjin, chief economist of the Asian Development Bank , the number of Chinese people living under poverty line is of more than 400 million, or 30% of the population.
See: China's poverty cut off too low: expert|Economy|chinadaily.com.cn

So, I hope if you sum up, you'll end at the same point I'd been pointing out in this discussion.

Wewe ndo unachanganya mambo! Hoja hapa ni kwamba ingawaje GDP ya China inaelekea kuipiku ya US bado ustawi US ni mkubwa kuliko China and it'll take a time kwa China kuipiku US kwenye suala zima la ustawi wa jamii.

Kwa bahati mbaya, tunapozungumzia ustawi wa jamii, we don't concentrate into monetary income alone (ambayo no problem kwa Qatar, UAE, Brunei nd the like) bali tunaangalia hadi improvement of social services... one of the main being education.

inawezekana kweli wengine wanatetea green cards.

I was answering the guy who said America has the best Ustawi Jamii. When you have best Social programs you cannot have such huge amount extarpolating population under poverty line. You cannot have jobless people at peak levels. You cannot have people tajirisha insurance companies at the expense of their health care.

Population is almost 3 times of USA.

And please do not mix the GDP, Economic growth and Social security bear in mind USA is a capitalist economy and only 1% of her people are the Elite Supper Previledged. The rest are struggling in all aspect of life.

US is different from many other countries in one thing! It's not only kwamba US wana GDP kubwa duniani (if you're interested comparing countries in terms of GDP alone) but also ni moja ya nchi zenye per capita kubwa sana duniani...

In terms of figures, YES lakini linapokuja suala la ustawi wa jamii, US ipo mbali sana as compared to China.

population not only suffer from low income but also face various difficulties in getting drinking water, roads, electricity, education, medical care and loans," news agency AFP quoted him as saying during a press conference.
Na kuwakumbusha tu ni kwamba, wakati poverty line waliyoitumia US ni $ 957 kwa mwezi, ile ya China ni $ 30 kwa mwezi... na ndio maana wenyewe wameshasema kwamba, wakitumia international poverty line standard ya $ 150 kwa mwezi achiilia mbali ile ya US ya $ 957, China itakuwa na more than 400 million people (30%) wanaoishi below the poverty line as compared to 45 million (14.5%) in US pamoja na kwamba poverty line ya US ni mara sita ya international poverty line standard!

nyumba kubwa mwishowe unatoa mfano unaoji-contradict mwenyewe pale unapohoji ikiwa masiha ya watu Brunei ni mazuri kuliko US! Bila shaka unahoji hivyo kwavile unafahamu GDP ya US ni kubwa kuliko ile ya US ambayo kimsingi hata sasa tumewapita!! Sasa hili swali jiulize wewe mwenyewe...

First, my concetration from the beginning had been economic development and not economic growth! GDP and economic growth are brother and sister while economic development is brother and sister to per capita GDP and there's no way I can mix GDP and economic growth!

Coming back to about poverty in US, as said earlier, no one who says every one in US is okay... it's me who said the US social welfare is much better as compared to China... and the reference here is between US and China! Having best social programs doesn't mean you'll have all people live above the poverty line especially for a larger country like US. And since we're comparing between US and China, the above data proves poverty in China is much higher as compared to US... am not talking of number of Chinese vs Americans but am talking of percentage Chinese vs Americans. If it's all about percentage, then we ignore China's high big population.
