President Barack Obama and his family made an emotional trip to former slaving port in Senegal from where captives were shipped across the Atlantic into slavery to America - never to see their homeland again.
US's First Family spent Thursday afternoon touring a Senegalese island called the visit a 'very powerful moment.'
Obama added that, as an African American and an African-American president, the trip gives him even greater motivation to stand up for human rights around the world, and the visit came just hours after he clashed with his Senegalese hosts over gay rights.
