So, if not those two players, who was in the swap then?

Time will tell.

Labda offer ilikuwa pamoja na wachezaji wengine lakini siyo Mata na Luiz.

May be!

According to the BBC, Chelsea has offered £10m in cash, plus either Juan Mata or David Luiz, for Wayne Rooney but the offer was outright rejected on Tuesday night by Manchester United. Rooney has reiterated his desire to leave the club this summer.

He has been left angered by recent messages coming out of Old Trafford, most noticeably new manager David Moyes's suggestion Robin van Persie is his main striker.

The Scot said last week: "Overall, my thought on Wayne is that if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need him - I want as many options as possible."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's press conference:

On Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney: "Nothing is a secret anymore. Chelsea are interested in the player, Chelsea made an official bid. What we did, we did officially, in a clean way. There is nothing more to say and nothing more to do."
Mourinho confirms no players were involved in a bid for Rooney by Chelsea.

Q. Have Chelsea bid for anyone else? Mourinho: "No"

Q. So it's Rooney or bust? Mourinho: "yes"

More quotes from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's media conference talking about Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

"We want the player, we are interested in the player and we made the bid," said Mourinho.

"Now we have to respect Manchester United and be ethical in this process so no more comments. From now on I don't say one more word about Wayne Rooney because we all know we want him. It's up to Manchester United and up to the player."

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

"There are no [Chelsea] players involved in the bid. We made an economic bid of a certain amount and now Manchester United accepts, or doesn't accept.

"No players are involved, no David [Luiz], no [Juan] Mata and no possibility of a player involved in our bid.

"We don't want to make public what has to be private which is the official bid we made.

"The official bid is about a certain amount of money, it doesn't involve players and doesn't involve players in the possibility of the negotiations continuing."

Manchester United say [executive vice chairman] Ed Woodward's return from United's Australia tour to handle transfer negotiations has nothing to do with Wayne Rooney. It is to do with something else..

Wakati Mourinho amesema: "The official bid is about a certain amount of money, it doesn't involve players and doesn't involve players in the possibility of the negotiations continuing.

Hii inaweza kuwa na maana kuwa kuna uwezekano wa majadiliano kuendelea pale Woodward atakapotua Manchester.

No wonder TONGONI said time will tell. Time is stating to tell. Watu washaanza kufanya safari za ghafla.

Of coz hiyo safari ya fasta hivyo may be wanataka kucash in, wanaweza kupewa wachezaji wengine kama Mikel, Ba au Cahill lakini kwa hao wawili sidhani.

Overall performance ya Mata msimu uliopita ni nzuri zaidi ya Rooney in every department, goals, assists, pass accuracy, chances created, appearance et al

Manchester City are set to complete the signing of Spanish internationalAlvaro Negredo, according to Sevilla club president Jose Maria del Nido.

Striker Negredo, 27, scored 25 goals in La Liga last season and the transfer is reported to be worth £19.8m (23m euros).
Del Nido said: "Manchester City are buying a great player, the top-scoring Spaniard in La Liga. This is a big deal for Sevilla, the second most important in our history after we sold (now-Barcelona full-back) Daniel Alves, and the player will sign the contract of his life.

"Everyone should be happy. It is a great deal for all three parties."

Wasiwasi wangu mkubwa ni hali isije kuwa mbaya to the extent ya kuachana kabisa na soka kama ulivyofanya kwenye siasa.

It will be devastating!
