Football Transfer Centre 2013: Transfer News and Rumours

Manchester United say [executive vice chairman] Ed Woodward's return from United's Australia tour to handle transfer negotiations has nothing to do with Wayne Rooney. It is to do with something else..

Wakati Mourinho amesema: "The official bid is about a certain amount of money, it doesn't involve players and doesn't involve players in the possibility of the negotiations continuing.

Hii inaweza kuwa na maana kuwa kuna uwezekano wa majadiliano kuendelea pale Woodward atakapotua Manchester.

No wonder TONGONI said time will tell. Time is stating to tell. Watu washaanza kufanya safari za ghafla.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has left the club's pre-season tour of Australia to push through a move for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

United remain confident of securing the services of Fabregas despite Barca's insistence he wants to remain at the Nou Camp and Arsenal having a £25million first refusal on their former captain.
Senior figures within the Barclays Premier League champions' camp are of the opinion Fabregas wishes to join them, although it may take more than the £26m they bid for him earlier this week.

Napoli chief: Chelsea in for Higuain
July 19, 2013

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Arsenal have been keen to sign Higuain, 25, this summer and were thought to be close to a deal, before De Laurentiis confirmed his side are in talks to sign the Argentina international earlier this week.

However, there now appears to be another club chasing the former River Plate man, with the Blues apparently expressing an interest.

“As well as Arsenal, Chelsea are now also interested,” De Laurentiis told Tuttomercato.

And Chelsea could now be favourites for Higuain’s signature as, according to AS, the striker is keen to reunite with his former Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues, though, will have to pay the €40 million asking price that Los Blancos are demanding - something that has reportedly proved a stumbling block for their London rivals Arsenal.

Marca claims that the Gunners are refusing to offer more than €26 million for Higuain, and although they have agreed terms with the player, they have yet to make a formal approach.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also closely monitoring the situation of Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, and Marca says that Higuain would be Mourinho’s “plan B” should the Rooney deal not come off.

Madrid’s €40 million price tag is putting off potential suitors, and Higuain, who scored 16 La Liga goals last season, is beginning to get frustrated.

Benteke signs new Aston Villa deal

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has withdrawn his transfer request and signed a new contract until 2017.
The Belgium international, who joined Villa from Genk for £7m last year, handed in the request in early July and was linked with Tottenham and Chelsea.

But after talks with manager Paul Lambert, the 22-year-old has decided his future remains at Villa Park.
"Having had time to re-evaluate his future Christian has decided to commit to the club," Lambert said.

Tito Vilanova to step down as a Barcelona coach kwa sababu ya matatizo ya Afya yake.

Barcelona have called a news conference amid reports that coach Tito Vilanova is to step down.

Vilanova had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat in November 2011 before suffering a relapse last year.

The 44-year-old had surgery in December 2012 and spent 10 weeks in New York to have chemotherapy and radiotherapy before returning in March to see his side take the Spanish title.

The news conference at the Nou Camp has been called for 19:30 BST.

Club president Sandro Rosell and director of football Andoni Zubizarreta will address the media.

Vilanova replaced Pep Guardiola as manager in June 2012, having previously worked as his assistant.

Mourinho kaanza mind games? Halafu sasa hivi makocha wengine wote ndani ya EPL ni madogo kwake? Soma mikwara yake hapa;

"I’m just going to be the Godfather," added Mourinho. "The big change in the Premier League in relation to us managers is that our boss isn’t there any more.

"(Sir Alex) was the guy everyone respected, admired and looked up to as the Dad of every manager in the Premier League, but he’s gone and for me that’s the change.

"Now I’m one of the guys with more time in football, the only one who’s won the Champions League, all the English competitions. So I’ve more responsibility on my shoulders in terms of being one of the more experienced guys.

"I have to be an example for everybody in many aspects. Not just in the expectation of winning because that is always there.

"In terms of everything; conduct, support, being there for everyone if for some reason they need me. In UEFA, I felt my respect and responsibility was getting stronger so in the Premier League I have to answer in a positive way."

Chelsea looking to tie down Mata
July 23, 2013

Chelsea have begun proceedings to offer Juan Mata a new contract before the start of the 2013-14 season, in order to ward off a long list of interested clubs and finally end speculation about the playmaker’s future.

The Spaniard is coveted by Barcelona and was last week even the subject of a rumour in which he was reportedly offered to Manchester United in part-exchange for Wayne Rooney.

Chelsea swiftly denied the story, and Stamford Bridge insiders have told ESPN that they were already in the process of tying down Mata’s future at that point.

The 25-year-old’s current deal ends in 2016, but Chelsea want to extend that to 2018 and also raise his wages from under £70,000 a week to £100,000.

Although the Europa League winners are now very confident of securing Mata’s future, it is understood that there was initially some genuine uncertainty at the start of the summer.

Some in Mata’s camp were unsure of his status after Jose Mourinho’s appointment as manager, while the Portuguese was at the same time ruminating on where exactly the playmaker would fit into his planned system.

It is also known that a number of top European clubs felt he was surprisingly available for transfer, with Barcelona especially encouraged and hopeful of a purchase.

The situation has eased significantly since then, with Mourinho also making much more glowing comments about Mata than he did on first being appointed. The Chelsea manager has been explaining where he sees the Spaniard’s specific role in his first XI as part of a rotating trio of playmakers.

Most importantly of all, it is understood that Mata - along with Oscar - is one of Roman Abramovich’s personal favourite players in the team. That would make any direct sale almost impossible.

By contrast, as Chelsea step up their efforts to sign Rooney, club sources have stated that both Fernando Torres and Demba Ba are available for transfer.

Chelsea Football Club has completed the signing of Cristian Cuevas from Chilean club O'Higgins.
The 18-year-old has signed a contract until 2018. He came through the youth ranks at O'Higgins before breaking into the first team and playing in the top flight in Chile.
At the FIFA Under-20 World Cup this summer he played in four of his nations' five games as Chile made it to the quarter-finals before losing to Ghana.
At 5ft 7in tall he plays primarily as a left-back but can also operate as a left-winger.

Luis Suarez to ask Liverpool for talks with Arsenal

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez wants to hold talks with Arsenal over a potential move to the London club.
He believes Arsenal's offer of just over £40m - which has been rejected - triggered a clause in his contract that allows him to speak to suitors.
Liverpool interpret the clause differently, but Suarez will inform the Reds of his wish to meet with Arsenal.
The Anfield side have now turned down two offers from the Gunners, who are keen to boost their attacking options.........source BBC SPORT

Wangemuuza mapema ili watafute quality players kama watatu hivi wajenge kikosi imara.

Maana huyo package ya Madrid inaweza ku include the likes of Di Maria, Coentrao, ila wao Spurs wako interested sana na dogo Alvaro Morata
