The last Premier League team to win the Europa League were of course Chelsea in 2013, under the Reds’ onetime manager, Rafael Benitez.
That victory made the Blues the only English club ever to have won every UEFA competition – the Champions League/European Cup, the Cup Winners’ Cup, the UEFA Cup/Europa League and the Super Cup. The Londoners joined a stellar line-up of grand slam clubs: Ajax, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Liverpool are unable to complete the set as they failed to win the Cup Winners’ Cup, which is now defunct; Manchester United will only join the Londoners should they ever win the Europa League, while Arsenal and Manchester City, with won one UEFA title apiece, have a long way to go.
