Most men will cheat on one point of their married life, thus goes the fearless forecast of many infidelity experts. Why this is so is often attributed to the biological nature of men to procreate. However, cheating men also have varied reasons for their acts of infidelity.
If an opportunity arises wherein a man can engage in the sexual act with another woman aside from his wife, what does a man do? Statistics would show that most would engage in the act if he knows he can, and he can get away with it. Being offered sex can be a great ego booster for any man, making him feel that he is attractive to the opposite sex. Most men would also cherish the thrill of the hunt and revel in getting the prize in the form of another woman.
Like women, men's infidelity can be triggered by an emotional factor. Emotions can set in when a man sees his wife as overly argumentative or critical in everything about him. While another woman may show interest in him as a man and as a person thereby inflating his ego, the wife may be trampling on it by every word and action that tends to belittle him. Too much argument in the home also encourages men to find their peace in the arms of another woman. An illicit relationship almost always has the advantage of not being burdened by bills, children and everyday problems like in marriage.
Many unfaithful men have claimed that they have fallen out of love from their wives and have found new love in their paramour. Whether or not this is true, a man may actually believe that he is truly in love with another when he feels physical attraction, sexual excitement and compatibility with this woman. If he feels nothing of this sort for his wife, then it would be hard to convince him otherwise. The other woman need not even be more physically attractive than the wife for this to happen as long as the other relationship offers something different and exciting.
The desire for something different may also manifest itself in the aspect of sex life. A disinterested wife or unsatisfying sex can make a man wander towards an affair. He may even have the chance to live his fantasies with the other woman as opposed to a wife who does not even entertain the thought of trying something new to enliven the relationship.
Some men are naturally daring and are certified risk-takers in determining if he can actually get away with infidelity. Though generally not targeting separation from their wives, they are still none the less willing to test the limits of their marriage. Cheating men who have been forgiven in the past are more likely to cheat again because they have mastered the art of convincing their wives to give them another chance over and over again.
Men who have been at the receiving end of acts of infidelity by their wives may consider cheating to exact revenge on their previously erring wives. A man may feel the need to make his wife experience the hurt that he went through. Infidelity has a way of awakening emotions that would not come out under normal conditions.
When couples grow apart and find that they no longer share anything in common, each may try to find another to fill the void. Some men succumb by pure peer pressure from friends who are involved in illicit relationships themselves. And then there are the men who indulge in infidelity just so to satisfy their lust
