Park escapes South Korean military service

ARSENAL striker Chu-Young Park has been given permission to delay doing his military service for 10 years.

South Korea's Military Manpower Administration say his 10-year residency visa from Monaco means he can postpone his service until 2022.The 26-year-old forward moved to North London from the French side in a £3million deal last summer and was expected to begin his duties either this year or next year.

All able-bodied South Korean men are required to serve two to three years in the military.

Robin van Persie makes a lot of sense every time he speaks or pens his thoughts. Here are
some of his recent nuggets of wisdom as told to Arsenal Player,

"After the two defeats to Milan and Sunderland, everyone was like ‘this is going to be a tough couple of weeks’ because we
had games against Spurs, Liverpool, Milan and an international week and then Newcastle. Yet we won every game, so we showed lots of
character. We can be proud of that. Now we need to show that over a period of a whole year. That is
very hard and only the best of the best teams have that in them. Look at Barcelona for
example. They have a special team there, they are playing most games – 9 out of 10 – really well and working hard. We need to have a run like that for months and even win the ugly
games."

There don’t seem to be any new injury problems, which is always good news.

Abou Diaby got his name on the
scoresheet as he completed 60 minutes for the reserves and Thomas Vermaelen has
apparently recovered from a minor knock picked up against
Newcastle. Our injury list continues to get shorter by the week, but Jack Wilshere is still a
while away from making a return. And in case you missed it, Andre Santos is fully fit as he was against Newcastle ready for game time. Francis Coquelin is few weeks away to full training while Per Mertasacker will miss the rest of the season.
