Youri Tielemans to leave Leicester City on a free transfer
Fabrizio Romano is reporting Leicester City midfielder Youri Telemans will leave the club in the summer on a free transfer. His contract expires in June, and Arsenal were trying to sign him this past summer.
Romano said: “The priority for Youri Tielemans is to find a new club on a free transfer, there are still no changes on this. I think Arsenal had a big chance to sign him last summer, but they decided to proceed with a different strategy and results have been great until now… so, can’t judge anything negative for Arsenal, honestly.”
Emile Smith Rowe targets Arsenal return date after the World Cup
Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe spoke to Sky Sports reporters at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend, and he provided an encouraging update on his recovery from injury.
Smith Rowe said: “Hopefully, by the first game back after the World Cup. I’m actually out here [in Saudi Arabia] doing rehab. Today was my day off, I’m back training tomorrow. I’m back on the pitch and stuff, so it’s going well.”
Fabrizio Romano says Mudryk is Arsenal’s priority
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano told Give Me Sport over the weekend Arsenal’s main priority for the upcoming January transfer window is Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
Fabrizio Romano said: “I think the main priority is Mudryk. The player they want is Mudryk. It’s about the price because Shakhtar have been really strong in negotiations for more than a year.”
Additionally, Romano responded to an Arsenal Buzz question regarding Mudryk’s 100 million evaluation.
Romano said: “From what I’m told, Mudryk has always been happy about Arsenal’s interest, both now and also back in August. He likes the club and the project, and for sure, Arsenal are in the race alongside three or four more clubs; but it’s about reaching an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk; they want more than €65m for Mudryk.”

Shakhtar Donetsk Sporting Director Carlo Nicolini was recently interviewed by Italian publication TuttoJuve.com, and has revealed it’s time for the club to negotiate a move for the promising winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
Carlo Nicolini said: “Mudryk is a phenomenon, a great prospect for the future, and [big clubs were] interested. Top club insiders are following him, the Champions League has been an even more important showcase to show its value. Now it will be time to resume contact with the [club, agents] and the boy himself to see if anyone will start a negotiation.”

According to Football Insider, Arsenal and winger Bukayo Saka are close to agreeing to a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Emirates for further five years!
Football Insider reports: “Arsenal have told sponsors they are very confident of agreeing a new contract with Bukayo Saka. Gabriel Martinelli recently sat down with The Players Tribune for an exclusive interview and he revealed he wants to win titles at Arsenal.
Martinelli said: “I want to win titles, I want to be champions. I think the club, the fans and the players we have, we deserve to win something. And that’s my dream, to win the Premier League, win the Champions League; I think we have to dream but keep our feet on the ground.
“I think everyone has a winning mentality; everyone who is in there wants to win. In our training sessions, we put pressure on ourselves to win a few games, we work on passing, and nobody wants to lose anything. So I think we take this from our training to the game, to win the matches and continue with this winning mentality.”
Arsenal still working on a new deal for Gabriel Martinelli
Fabrizio Romano reports Arsenal and Gabriel Martinelli are in negotiations over a new contract extension.
“Arsenal are still working on Gabriel Martinelli’s new contract,” said Romano on Twitter.
“Talks are ongoing as new deal for Brazilian star is considered one of the priorities. Negotiations will continue as current deal includes an option to extend until June 2026.”
In October, Martinelli revealed he wants to stay at Arsenal and that he “loves the club.”
“I’m very happy at Arsenal. I’ve said it many times. This is my club. I love to be here, I love the city, I love the club. I love everything about Arsenal so I want to stay.
“I’m very happy. Yeah, I just need to get a pen!”
Barca interested in Charlie Patino?
La Liga side Barcelona are monitoring the contract situation of Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino, who is out on loan with Blackpool.
Ferran Correas (Sport.es): “Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta follows Patino closely and hopes that he will renew the contract he signed in October 2020,” the report claims. “But he knows that other clubs have shown interest in the player, including Barça.”
Jordi Batalla (Mundod Eportivo): “Arsenal will soon enter into contract negotiations with Charlie Patino to renew his contract. It’s understood the Gunners have the option to activate a two-year extension on the deal. Barca are waiting for news and is following the situation.”
Fabrizio Romano (Substack): “As we get closer to January, it’s inevitable that we’ll get even more transfer gossip stories than usual, and one surprising one I’ve seen involved Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino being a target for Barcelona.
