Arsenal had to know that ozil was their best creative midfielder, he had 1 year left from his contract and if they felt he doesn't contribute much to the team they could have let him leave once his contract ends.

They had to know that once Ozil was so loyal to this team, he could leave in 2018 just like Sanchez but Wenger and the board back then persuaded him to stay and he stayed. It was not okey to try and kick him out just like the way they wanted to do.

Lastly for arteta, he could come clean and not lie to arsenal fans that ozil was left for football reasons. There is a where majority of the fans do not understand and feel like arteta is just shit. How on earth would you leave ozil with hopes of playing willock and willian as number 10s????

“Footballing reasons” is very wide, includes on and off the pitch reasons. That being the case, I believe Arteta tried to tell the reasons in a civilized way. But I think there is a material problem with a player that necessitated his omission, sanctioned by the club owner.Remember, even with his omission, he is still on the club payroll - another burden shouldered, (not playing but with substantial defrayal made to him)

True brother, unai didn't bench him for football reasons as he said, it was the management trying to frustrate ozil and force him out. Unai even dared saying ozil decision was not solely his (meaning it was a directive from higher authority than his), we all know what happened then. It costed him his job.

Fred barely managed the team, 5 games??? So we can't say much on that.

Arteta came in and I believe one of the pressing issue he had to get cleared was ozil issue and management took him on board. Things changed after the Chinese issue and COVID-19. He refused a pay cut and that added salt to the wound. I believe arteta was given instructions hence sacrificed.

I read somewhere that ozil is looking into staying in London after his contract with arsenal ends. He is friend to Mourinho, you know that right??

Believe me, where we are right now is a result of this issue as well. Arteta is questioning Aubameyang's ability now???? His interview yesterday, you listened to it?? They are saying "the decision is backfiring now"
