According to sources close to Arsenal Central, the Gunners have submitted a £44.4m offer to Lyon for midfielder Houssem Aouar, with the 22-year-old having already agreed personal terms at the North London club.
The offer was made to Lyon this morning and, while the payment structure of the bid has not been confirmed to us, we understand that the Frenchman will earn £100,000 per week on a 5-year-deal at Arsenal, including an automatic 1-year extension if the final 12 months of the contract are entered.
Aouar will earn £15,000 for every goal or assist he gets and, while there are bonuses for winning silverware, the biggest is £125,000 for getting into the top four this season. There are also further bonuses for making 50, 100, 200 and 300 appearances for the Gunners.
Arsenal Central reported on Wednesday that Mikel Arteta’s side is ready to step up and pay the cash required for Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey, provided they generated enough money from player sales, and it seems the Gunners have taken their first big step to secure their major money signings.
