Lucas Torreira has been voted Arsenal’s player of the month for December.

After being poorly utilised and under-played by Unai Emery, the 23-year old reminded us just how effective he can be since the Spaniard’s dismissal. Well deserved, Lucas!

According to @TheAthleticUK, #Arsenal had the chance to sell Reiss Nelson for £20m last summer, but Unai Emery decided against it. Alex Iwobi was sold instead.

Cavani is out of contract at PSG this summer.
He’s been linked with a move away to Atletico Madrid and Manchester United.
It looks like the Gunners are now in the hunt too.
PSG are unlikely to sanction a move away in winter though.
Edinson may serve as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal are looking at options at centre-forward, given Pierre-Emerick’s Aubameyang’s expiring contract, and it looks like Edinson Cavani might be on the Gunners' radar.
This is according to the Spanish media outlet El Chiringuito, who report that the North London outfit have joined the queue for the Uruguayan’s services: the PSG’s striker deal is up this summer.
This means he can negotiate a move away this January. Atletico Madrid and Manchester United were said to be in for the striker, with the Spanish giants reportedly close to completing the deal.
PSG are desperate to retain Cavani till the very end, it seems. Their manager, Thomas Tuchel, addressed the possible ins and outs in January:
"We want to win all the titles possible,” Tuchel was quoted by the Express as saying.
"To do so we need a great team and we need to take difficult decisions.
"That's necessary at a club like PSG. We don't like to make many changes during the winter market. This isn't Monopoly."
The Gunners are probably in no immediate hurry too, with Arteta unlikely to sanction Aubameyang’s move away mid-season. It will be interesting to see whether the move for Cavani occurs in summer though.

Unaambiwa chagua mchezaji mmoja awe kwenye timu yako utachagua nani?

Umesema kweli!.. Itakuwa wameshampanga

'I'm told they [Arsenal] won't make any signings that require a significant investment. That's because they committed over a £150m on transfers in the summer.' [@skysports_sheth]

Dharmesh Sheth:

If you look at Arsenal's situation, it is possible because [Arsenal] are asking about the possibility of a loan[for Boateng], it might fit in with what they need and what they have. Everyone forgets that they've got William Saliba coming back to them in the summer

It’s easy to see why Arteta likes Reiss Nelson.

He’s committed and determined from the first whistle to the last and has easily been one of the quickest learners under Arteta so far. #afc

According to @SkySportDE, Xhaka is intent on staying at #Arsenal despite strong interest from Hertha Berlin. Mikel Arteta has assured him he has a big part to play in the second half of the season.

Arsenal currently negotiating with final three clubs for both Nketiah and Smith Rowe. In the case of the latter there is Premier League interest. (James benge)

According to @charles_watts Arsenal have the money to spend this month if they want to.

Which to me isn't a surprise considering how hard the club is said to be trying for Upamecano. Signing a CB this month can be the difference between getting UCL or not.

Sky reporting we won't spend now because we exhausted funds in the summer. On the other hand, Goal and Football London reporting that we have funds if we want to spend. No news from Ornstein regarding any incoming YET. Club keeping things very private by the looks of things.

A look at Arsenal's thought process during the January window and why the won't be forced into any panic buys - The focus very much remains on the summer unless something arises that is too good to turn down.
