“That [Chambers injury] is obviously going to change our plans at the back but the reality at the moment is that we're not going to be able to do much. I’m more concerned to get people back from injuries than signings, and try to improve the players that are here"

“We draw in the opponent then switch.”

Those were Mikel Arteta’s words in his first training session. In the game against Man Utd we saw just that with David Luiz and Granit Xhaka utilising their strengths of playing the long ball to beat the press. Once again Xhaka would drop into a back three to give him time to pick out a pass to Kolasinac flying down the wing. Not only did this benefit Xhaka it also troubled Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James as they did not know who to mark in this situation.

Aubameyang and Lacazette worked in tandem to pull out Wan-Bissaka to open up the left wing for Sead. Kolasinac was effective in the final third, which saw us get our first goal and its the accuracy from the wings that we had on Wednesday night that was missing at Bournemouth.

Defensively we started off pressing United effectively by blocking all passing routes to their midfield and forcing them to play back to De Gea on multiple occasions. Mesut Özil the leader in doing so as he had the most instances of pressing the opposition.

We sat in mid block in the second half to preserve our energy and Lucas Torreira came to the helm recovering the ball on 9 occasions.
Arteta’s first half performances are encouraging and with a better physical condition we’d hope for more of the same from the players throughout the 90!

Adrien Rabiot is not for sale and will not be leaving Juventus in the January transfer window.

The French midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Serie A champions, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton having all been linked with a move for the 24-year-old.

A report in the Sun on Saturday went as far as claiming that Juve are prepared to offer Rabiot to United in a player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba.

But Maurizio Sarri's side have no intention of letting Rabiot go in January and have been happy with the progress he has made in Turin since his switch from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer.
