The Arsenal starlet went off in the 20th minute of England's draw and was sent to hospital on crutches.
Gibbs, 20, did fly home with the rest of Stuart Pearce's Under-21 squad.
But Gunners boss Wenger, still reeling from Robin van Persie's ankle injury, will be sweating on Gibbs - who has replaced the crocked Gael Clichy at left-back.
