African Satellite World and Sat Gear

African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Check your setup again.
Just checked at 11am EA Standard Time on my NSS 12 using 90cm offset and Openbox S8 and got them loud and clear. The 90cm offset is primarily focused on Yahsat-1A at 52.5° East, and all I did was to add a simple LNB on top of the Yahsat and voila! you are on NSS 12.
Use freq. 11008 H 4882 for BW TV (Bundeswehr TV [encrypted]) to scan with any stb SD or HD.

I also got the following feeds:
TBC feed on 11503 H 2879
ANL feed 11555 H 3298
SE TV 11461 H 3499

I'll try again this evening as Vince9 claimed that "at around 8:00pm EAT [yesterday] the channels went off".
I got (yesterday between 8:00 & 10:00pm) the BW TV TP with an alarming 100% signal strength on the beIN decoder. I got the ANL feed 11555 H 3298 (85% strength) & SE TV 11461 H 3499 (70% strength). Every time I blind scanned with an SR-2000HD HYPER, 11043 H 4999 would show up as a found Transponder but had no signal. This normally happens with Tps that are extremely weak on signal, for example when I blind scan 7˚E with a 90cm dish, I get European Beam Tps among the found Tps but those ones show no signal.

Hi Edison,
Tried to call but your number is switched off, Honestly, there is no need for 130cm for the Uganda MUx, Yesturday Asas Symptoms sent me on the roof at around 7:30pm to hunt for NSS 12 57east with my 90cm offset and with in 10mins, i nailed green with 80%. Unfortunately at around 8:00 the channels went off, it is eith my dish wasn't firm enough or someting went wrong on our side of the beam. anyway the full job will be for Friday when am home but i had these channels fro about 20 mins. it was too late for me to climb the roof again. below is the evidence:-
Thanks mate for this input. Fingers crossed, as this would for the time being save me from betraying my principles on how I should and shouldn't watch Television.

Hujambo Mirjangi. Hii ulipata kwa bei gani na wapi hasa? Unafanya majaribio kwa satellite gani? Tafadhali tupe matokeo. Shukran

Sijambo hizi zauzwa hapa Mombasa
Ya line 1 ni 1,800/-
Ya line 2 ni 3,000/-

Forget signal strength, what's the signal quality? I believe your azimuth is wrong, get that right first. Use your neighborhood's zuku and dstv dishes as a guide.

Am still getting a nil quality but wil try again 2morro. i have a neighbours D**V wil use it as a guide. I also have a fellow member willing 2 help. wil try n get back with results.

Check whether your cable is well connected on the cable ends. Ensure there is no shortcircuit on the cable from your decoder to lnb...otherwise if your meter is locking on signal it is ur reciever cable with problem......try connecting meter on the cable to decoder to see whether it works..thnk

Bro i had tried that many a times. i even thought it was the software downgraded then upgraded.

My Sat-link WS-6906 satellite meter crashed last week! So am back to the tried-and-proven old school method of climbing roof with decoder, TV (any size and type will do) and other tracking tools!
On the day shown in the attached picture, some place up-country, there was a power black-out at 5Pm just one minute after I began swinging the dish this way and that way ….…. And power did not return until after midnight! I almost climbed back to the roof to continue at 1Am for fear that power would disappear again the following day ………. Only a couple of thousand sleepless, hungry mosquitoes discouraged me! Just an episode to reveal how useful a Satlink gadget can be ……………

How much is that satlink thing. Is it available in Kenya or do we have something similar?

Afternoon to all bro's i am a newbie, just starting to sit up. hope i am welkam. Am at Kiambu, Ndumberi. Now to my question.
1. I have a 6ft pf, 4950h, Eurostar twin n a stargold satelite meter. with the above is it possible to bring down Nilesats?
2. Everything is connected but am getting an unstable strength of 55% and a nil Quality reading.where could i have gone wrong ?
3. The meter connected to LNB shows a strength of 80-92% but the decoder as above nakosea wapi ?
HELP ME OUT
I managed to upgrade to V3.20 could this affect my chances ?
Nataka kulipa fundi nikishindwa pliz help me out @ Kungu1,Ranksat, Vince9,all forumists !

If ur getting a good response on the Sat meter then I suspect your stb settings are wrong. Be sure to select the correct lnb type under antenna settings. Choose universal ku band lnb.

It displays nothing on screen. I am able to write software on it through pctool only but cannot boot. The strong tech people concluded a bootloader damage coz i used a pctool to upgrade in the first attempt. They have since advised me to collect a new programmed flash memory from their Dubai office for replacement, and i am yet to find a person who can collect it for me.
yes you interfered with the bootloader memory n. yes you have to replace it. pole bro just keep on asking for anyone going to Dubai. meanwhile may be look for a new replacement STB

Hi Dejubo, What type and size of dish are you using to get Digiturk? I already have a stargolf fuji KU lnb for PF and am planning to get 180cm PF tomorrow for Digiturk. Do you think this will give me a descent signal quality?. Your advise will be highly appreciated.
I started with 240cm (8ft) PF dish and Stargold Fuji LNB with a PF dish scalar. You can get most good Digiturk channels with this setup except the tps carrying Nat Geo and Animal Planet which keep breaking. Later I bought a 180cm (6ft) offset dish with a very good twin LNB with conical scalar whose make and name I do not know as everything is in Chinese language. Check it out on page 396 my post # 7901 of this forum.
There is no way you are going to get Digiturk in Kampala with a 180cm PF dish. Try using at least a 240cm PF dish.
By the way, the Digiturk signal is stronger as you go eastwards. In Jinja for example, with a 240cm PF dish you can get all the good tps including the difficult 11618 V (Nat Geo) and 11535 V (Animal Planet). I imagine further east like Tororo and Mbale the signal is even better while using a smaller size dish like 180cm PF or 130cm offset.

That is very strange considering that the channels are on good old DVB-S capable of being received by even simple SD receivers. Try using another receiver. Getting the Uganda mux on NSS 12 is a "no brainer" and should not take you more than 5 minutes if you have the right equipment. Maximize your BWTV signal on 11008 H 4883 and then blind scan. That should bring them out.
All channels are still on with the following changes: Time check: 7.00pm EA time (29-4-2015)
TV WEST now has both Audio and Video. Picture is perfect.
BUKEDDE 2 now has Video only. Audio has a lot of static noise.

Time check 1939hrs EA time 29 -4-15 still nothing this side.... only ANL DEmo ,2 tps BTW and SET strong signals... puzzling

Hello there mankuri, I'm going through the exact experience. Wonder what the solution to this puzzle is.

Thanks again dejumbo. This is really Tantilizing! I've already tried with two STBs. I guess I'm now doomed to consider getting on my knees seeking divine intervention to square a circle unless someone provides a technical explanation and eventually a solution. :A S-confused1::frusty:

Thanks I have also nabbed the Ugandan Mux here in North Western Tanzania. The lnb is below my primary C Band on IS906 on a 2.4m pf.I had to rearrange the KU lnb to get max signal on NSS12.The BWTV signal is at 91%,SE TV at 97% and ANL feed at 81% .I am using SRT4922 HD.In short the tp is very weak you have to maximise signal to nab them.Remenber some stbs are weak in nabbing low sr tps.

I tried it using a 90cm and encountered the same problem but when I changed the dish to 130cm, it took me 5 minutes,
