I have seen many posts not just here but on other forums as well about MBC3 at 7E, but lyngsat and flysat only shows MBC 1 and MBC2 on that sat. On my system they scan in as Rodrigues 1 and Rodrigues 2 but when opened they are clearly written MBC 1 and MBC2. Where does MBC3 come from? Am I missing something?

Hi forum members? My ASAS is deteriorating and has become chronic. The year has not even healed its navel and i wonder how my condition will be when the year will be winding up. Iam on a hunting mission for a 165cm offset dish. pls make my syndrome bearable by helping me on how and where i can get one. Oh poor me. When i think a'm there, it dawns to me that there lies several miles away. No turning back. Its better this way. My problem, 165cm offset, Target, National geographic and family at 7e. pls help me bring this bird wholesomely to my sitting room, i.e everything in it including the gizzard and the feathers.

You mean MBC2 sometimes changes to MBC3 on the same TP? This channel switching between a main channel and a guest channel I can understand, but what I dont understand is why the guest channel has now become the main channel. Its like people saying go to the BBC TP on the Kenyan mux just because KTN sometimes turns to BBC. Its confusing.

same problem here, the tp shows some signal from 4pm but cant lock on it. am using supermax 777 lnb and 6ft too. Any help is greatly appreciated

Am sorry to dis-agree with you my bro, QTV is very active on Nilesat TP 11512 V 27500, I am GETTING IT WITH SIGNAL QUALITY OF 60% here in Kampala. I could post for you picture evidence of a screen shot but i am unable to get screen shots currently. i also need help with that.

can someone point me to the right place where a project of converting 10ft mesh dish into solid was discussed? i think it is through foiling it

That process is explained in Nairaland forum(i think), ( All About Nilesat Installations - Satellite TV Technology (2) - Nairaland ) copy and paste that in your url and see how George did it with picture guide. but what i remember is that you take the dish down, foil it with aluminum foil from bakery shops. you will also need glue to pile layers of foil. then you can use white paint to finish it off. Hi Rawlongo, Welcome to the forum, First congs on locking in on Nilesat, but you will not be able to unscramble channels on nilesat but you stand a chance of watching those channels on Eutelsat 7A at 7 degrees east Europe b footprint. All you need is to patch your strong receiver with the latest firmware and point your dish at 7 degrees east. below are the channels you can get;-

Oh yes the pole is slightly bending to the west, so therefore i should take it off the wall again!? oops!

There you go!!!!, now to even asure you more that you will get the MBC channels. This ASAS syndrome made me combine Nilesat 7W (top most), plus Digiturk 7E (Centre of dish) and Amos 5 (below 7E) Lnbs on one 130 cm dish, this reduced my Nilesat signal by about 10% putting my Dubai one on 67% quality. but i am getting the mbcs at 71% quality, meaning you are getting the weak signal at 63%, therefore your MBC should be at around 70%. fox movies will even be better at around 74% for you. pliz work on your pole, also try QTV TP 11512 V 27500(currntly enjoying coll movies on that channel. let me know the outcome. good-luck

FTA-Nash, Kungu and other Gurus in the house, pliz help me out,
1. my 4way diseqc switch won't accept more than 2 lnb connections without loosing signal on the third or 2 lnbs no matter the combinations, so i am now connecting only 2 lnbs on it. is there a solution for this? it is a Eurostar 4wy diseqc switch.

2. my Strong srt 4922 receiver is patched with (SRT4920_132p_130904.stb) but i am unable to take SCREEN-SHOTS to share with fellow members here. when i press the screen shot button on the remote, i get a users manual menu. How even with USB inserted. how can i do this? any help will be highly appreciated.

I av completely given up. I av tried all my best and i have not nailed even a single bird. For one i don't av a signal meter am relying on android satellite director. Am in thika anyone willing to led a hand. Am in possession of a 4950h, 90cm dish and black inverto lnb.

Thts my next project though I think the best material to use is galvaized sheeting for long lasting effect and a good finish.....al keep you upto date wen I start....

You had requested info about C-Band reception plus list of satellite and channels you can access with your 1.8 meter prime-focus dish.


For C-Band reception you require a primefocus dish plus C-Band LNB.

C-band satellite frequencies are transmitted either under Linear or Circular polarity.

What is the difference between a Linear and Circular polarity?

This has to do with the way the signal is transmitted from the satellite.

There are two different ways that a satellite broadcast its signal.

If linear, it broadcasts Horizontal (H) and Vertical (V).

If circular, it broadcasts Right Circular (R) and Left Circular (L).

To understand this better, imagine the signal coming in like a screw that's turning left or right.

Under the transponder frequency column (Freq. Tp) e.g on Flysat FlySat Arabsat-5C @ 20° East you will see a letter next to the frequency. If the letters used are R or L (Right or Left), then it's a circular broadcasting transponder. If you see the letters H or V (Horizontal or Vertical), then it's a linear broadcasting transponder.

Please note, for Circular polarity (R/L) you are required to insert the dielectric plate

inside the lnb as shown in the image below

For linear polarity (H/V), remove the dielectric plate.

Please also note, the dielectic plate is inserted into the lnb to covert or depolarise the circular polarity to linear.

it's done in such a way to the (R) (right hand circular polarity) is turned to (V) (vertical Linear polarity) while (L)(left hand circular polarity) is turned to (H) (horizontal Linear polarity)


R = Vwhile L = H


BISS KEY


Most FTA sports channel televising Live sports matches are coded under BISS key also known as Basic Interoperable Scrambling System.

The biss encryption is activated during live matches on some channels.

You would require a sat receiver able to support keying in of biss code to decry-pt the said channel.

You can go for strong sat brand receiver like 4922 hd which is easy to patch for key support.

Some of the sports channel we are enjoying under biss encryption include<<<<

Irib 3 and Irib Varzesh on Arabsat 5C frequency 3964 R DVB-S2 8PSK SR 30000.
Live EPL, Spanish/French/Italian league plus more
Still on Arabsat you can access Aljazeera News english and Aljazeera America also in english plus other news channels
FlySat Arabsat-5C @ 20° East


PTV sports on Paksat 1R frequency 4004 V DVB-S2 SR 3333.
