FTA-Nash, Kungu and other Gurus in the house, pliz help me out,
1. my 4way diseqc switch won't accept more than 2 lnb connections without loosing signal on the third or 2 lnbs no matter the combinations, so i am now connecting only 2 lnbs on it. is there a solution for this? it is a Eurostar 4wy diseqc switch.

2. my Strong srt 4922 receiver is patched with (SRT4920_132p_130904.stb) but i am unable to take SCREEN-SHOTS to share with fellow members here. when i press the screen shot button on the remote, i get a users manual menu. How even with USB inserted. how can i do this? any help will be highly appreciated.

About the diseq switch have it replaced and for the screenshots go to menu,system settings under key settings pick one key like F4 press enter and scroll to snapshots.....Exit and save the changes....now when you need to take a snapshot just press F4 on your remote 🙂

guyz, very easily I used to nab IS 20 ku. recentry, I lost these channels and to my suplise in the last 2 wks,I hv tried to get them back with the same lnb, in the same position in a 6 ft dish and my sat finder is not picking any signal here. so what has happened now? pliz help me

There you go!!!!, now to
even asure you more that you will get the MBC channels. This ASAS
syndrome made me combine Nilesat 7W (top most), plus Digiturk 7E (Centre
of dish) and Amos 5 (below 7E) Lnbs on one 130 cm dish, this reduced my
Nilesat signal by about 10% putting my Dubai one on 67% quality. but i
am getting the mbcs at 71% quality, meaning you are getting the weak
signal at 63%, therefore your MBC should be at around 70%. fox movies
will even be better at around 74% for you. pliz work on your pole, also
try QTV TP 11512 V 27500(currntly enjoying coll movies on that channel.
let me know the outcome. good-luck

Am in southern part of africa (malawi) I have been trying to nab nilesat and badr on my prime focus dish with a ku band lnb but never came to any success, my prime focus is sized 1.8m, can someone confirm to me if southern africa can receive those sat with such equipments? May I kno also if europe b on 7e can be received here

I have seen many posts not just here but on other forums as well about MBC3 at 7E, but lyngsat and flysat only shows MBC 1 and MBC2 on that sat. On my system they scan in as Rodrigues 1 and Rodrigues 2 but when opened they are clearly written MBC 1 and MBC2. Where does MBC3 come from? Am I missing something?

MBC stands for Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. It runs two terrestial channels on the main Island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. That Island is small, and one Terrestial transmitter on the hill in the middle of the island allows people all over the island to get a clear signal, they dont need Satellite! But, there is a much smaller island, with just a few thousand people, called Rodrigues, and that is some few hundred kilometers further out to sea away from the main island. So, in order for these good citizens to be able to benefit from the TV shown on the main island (and paid for by tax-payers), the Government relays the broadcasts by Satellite, FTA, choosing Sat 7E. The beam is so wide and strong that you can pick up this relay, intended only for domestic use, in Kenya!

Thanx Vince9, but i have updated my SRT 4950H to v2.26 from manufacturer website but am not able to activate the patch menu...am pressing F1 6969 on my remote but nothing is happening or no patch menu is added on the decoder.
What am doing wrong? please help

try 2.4 offset you may nab them for the European beam its elusive here on a 1.8 prime focus my advice upgrade your dishes

How is this possible when the latest official firmware from the SRT website is V2.26? Or this are third party firmwares?
Please someone elaborate on this because iam not able patch my decoder

Brilliantly clear and informative explanation, @ Northumberland. I always wondered why the channels MBC 1 and MBC 2 scanned in as Rodrigues 1 and Rodrigues 2, now I know why, thanks. Interesting though that you, also, dont know anything about MBC 3! Perhaps MBC 3 is one of the terrestrial channels which they didnt put on sat, perhaps a sports channel which, like the other guy seemed to say, swaps with MBC2 once in a while. I havent seen it though.

There actually is a V2.28 dated 24 Dec 2013 with access to opening server settings by pressing F1 then 8281. You can download it from here:

I am in Mozambique i tried it and igot it but with 240 cm eurostar prime focus dish with eurostar prime focus ku lnb and the signa is good try it as Mozambique is far than Malawi

I av completely given up. I av tried all my best and i have not nailed even a single bird. For one i don't av a signal meter am relying on android satellite director. Am in thika anyone willing to led a hand. Am in possession of a 4950h, 90cm dish and black inverto lnb.

Never give up !! I expect you are doing " trial and anger " method which is very frustrating,most Gotv/dstv installer can do this for your . For DIY you better have the following magnetic compass( bought mine from shane electronics near riwira @ 2500 and the satfinder SG -20FS(about 1000/=) With thes two you will be able to nail any of the satellite.i can send you some online notes i made from googling on the net.The compass is for setting your Azimuth.

I also tried to get Nilesat, badr 6, and yahsat with a 1.8m prime focus and a 1.35m offset from Lusaka Zambia and failed to get any of them. If you hear of any one in a country below Tanzania who has succeeded please inform me so that we learn. I think perhaps if you have a 4m dish you might have a slim chance.

Hi Rawlongo, pliz dont update using the manufacturers web, go to http://ast-micsupport.net/ and locate your receiver download the latest patch for it, unzip and install on your receiver. Then you will be good to go. good-luck
