most institutions don't apply what would make sense. Astra through Nss 12 57E Ku band invited local African providers to build FTA packages on their space there. the uptake is dead to say the least. While you have a point, the musketeers have a responsibility to ensure that their largest income stream (advertising) is safeguarded by ensuring maximum reach. I was talking of a governmental initiative to ensure total digital migration. Indeed we already have what should be a complete Kenyan mux at 72 East. What is not clear to me is why Signet (part owned by the Kenyan Govt, I think) settled on the particular bird, with such technicality as multi-stream inherent in its TPs.
On the presence of the paytv alongside FTA, it seems to be commonplace; OSN(Nilesat), Discoveries and Sonies (IS 20) .....etc, while on costs, I thinks they also pay dearly to construct, run /maintain those unreliable masts. An advert is running on 68.5 East (Ku-band) from either the satellite owners or content aggregators (probably Sentech) talking of a starting cost of about USD 6, 500 to lease the space there per month. While to an individual this may seem much, to the KTNs and CITIZENs of this world, this is a bargain considering the footprint of the bird. Did you notice that for the many differences (and competition for souls I dare churches have, they seem to agree to broadcast from the same satellite
Probably someone wanted 10% cut to approve the tender, the supplier declined and that was the end of it. Meanwhile the supplier at 72e accepted to give 15% cut despite the sat and tps being inaccessible to majority, he was given the tender anyway. That's how corruption takes us back. And if Nigeria can afford their own satellite Nigcomsat, why not Kenya. We can even get a Eurobond for it.most institutions don't apply what would make sense. Welcome. Maybe you are leaning so much on 5e. Raise it a little and see if the freq will go green
hahaha 😀😀😀. welcome to the club. thats part of this hobby. it keeps you fitI did raise the dish upwards a bit and it checked in, I returned to the roof to tighten and found them lost on coming back into the house. We played that game several times, I get them go tighten the nuts, I descend & get met by red till I grew tired! I will try again tonight for 5E is very strong at over 76% on 4922.
