I wrote this piece on Thursday December 22nd 2005 just after Kikwete was sworn in as the 4th President and as provocative as it was then, this piece created a lot of buzz at BCS and provoked heated arguments which led to Mkandara and I to break the protocal and exchanged phone numbers!

I think I still stand correct to majority of what I stated in 2005. Enjoy!

Ndugu

As we sit and celebrate the Awamu ya nne, savoring in champagne, beer, kimpumu, gongo, soda and tea, I have issues that I need to speak out loud. Please lend me your ear.

Wananchi have spoken. In such an 'industrious' win, the ruling party, my beloved CCM have taken the government for the third time on these multi party elections. Hongera to Kikwete and all the Wabunge who will be representing wananchi until next elections in 2010.

However, one has to explain how come 25% of registered voters did not go to the poll stations and cast their votes? what went wrong? did these people gave up the hope before elections or there was mkono wa mtu behind this?

Okay, Mheshimiwa Kikwete has won hands down with a land slide, even if we would have given the none voting votes to opposition, still he would have won the presidency. But, giving the 25% of registered votes to opposition, could have mean that CCM looses at least 60 parliamentary seats in addition to 20 from Pemba.

I will strongly suggest that Mheshimiwa Kikwete creates an independent commission that will be lead by some one like Judge Robert Kisanga and Professor Shivji to examine what took place on election date. This will help him to come clear of the cloud of Chama Twawala rigging the elections!!

This may be tough for him since he played a dirty game during CCM nomination process and so were his close supporters.

In my opinion, 40% of the elected members of parliament should not have been voted for or won the elections (being preliminary nomination or the finals on December 14th 2005). Of these 40% some should hang up and pave a way for someone else to lead.

I wish they could follow what CD (Msuya), Kawawa, Warioba, Msuguri, late Nyirabu, Peter Macha, Sarakikya and others who decided to hang the gloves and enjoy their retirement.

My dear Uncle John Malecela, Mzindakaya, Gama, Janguo, Sitta, Mkulo, Msabaha, Msekwa (for goodness sake go back to Ukerewe), Mongella, Makweta, Mwapachu and all other Wazee Vigogo who have been in the Government and parastatals. Please go home and enjoy your lives with Vijukuu and let you children and Wajuku run the country. We have seen your faces for to long that there is nothing else that you can convince us you can do or that your a becoming young and handsome.

We can see your wrinkles and even Botox can not cure the lines in your skins. And so is your service to the country. It has been wrinkled enough that even if we would use starch to rid the wrinkles during laundry, we will still see that you are not going to do anything different. Unfortunately for you all, we do not have Bingo in Ukiliguru and Msata. Worse enough, you have never planned on what to do if you did not receive mafao, ruzuku and well of course TAKRIMA!!

It is people like you who have had a share of running our country since we got our independence that you are still in denial that hauna mpya and tumekuchoka. 50% of you old timers are corrupt and breath Takrima on daily basis. You failed in the organizations that you were given. How can we trust that you can now make a difference?

As for wananchi, guess what, it is time that you either wake up and keep it real or shut up and let CCM run you over.

For the last 20 years you have been whining about kuonewa, umasinkini, njaa, nimechoka and all other malalamishi. You had your chance on December 14th 2005 to make that difference to your life, but you ended up claiming that Taswira ya Kikwete ilikusuta!!

Bullshit mwananchi, you enjoy to be run over and kulalamika has just become part and parcel of your life and you are too deep in denial that you can not even attempt to make a difference. Last week Wednesday, you had a chance to bring a change, but you made a choice of heeding to the Ubwabwa, Kangara, Tisheti and Kofia ya Chama Twawala.

I am glad you did it, because as a CCM fan and non active member, you still give me a hope that Fikra za Chama have sunk into your brain that when you saw Madevu, Lips, Kikofia and Chekibobu, you were never fascinated by the Kopta.

You still see Nyerere and believe in his dreams (actually I support his Fikra Sahihi with Passion). You still believe in Binadamu wote ni sawa. Marx & Lenin were our inspiration to enhance ujamaa na kujitegemea. But that did not work. Even mchonga came to agree on that on his last days.

You have elected Kikwete, under belief that your problems will be solved. Is is because you are Kijana or Muislamu?

As Kijana, you believe that Kikwete with his Ari, Kasi and Nguvu Mpya you will have a chance to be part of building our country, that you will have your share to the Mkate wa Taifa. As Muislamu, this is a redemption, you believe that Kikwete, sharing a mat with you at Masjid, you will have better opportunity similar to the Enzi za Rhuksa when you were able to belittle the Bible and build an eastern toilet at your office.

Let me tell you, Kikwete is not Hercules. I pray and hope that he does not join the famous chorus of so many ahadiz that by the time his 10 years (yes 10 years, he will win again in 2010 unless he is incapacitated) are done he will be furious like Bwana Uwazi to defend his record.

It is true Bwana Uwazi has helped the economy to grow in terms of statistics. However the average Joe's life has not improved. Umasikini is spreading faster than speed of light. Illiteracy is high, no wonder people could not vote!! Rushwa.. I mean Takrima is the source of income and it is justified to get some.

Bwana Uwazi came with Mikwala. 10 year later we could barely count who he held accountable and fired for incompetency or corruption except for scape goat my fellow Nyiramba Nalaila Kiula! Mbilinyi and Kitine were forced to resign by the parliament not by the Bwana Uwazi.

I wish Bwana Uwazi all the best and probably he will spend time healing his knees and write his memoirs. Shukrani kwa kutufutia madeni na kuruhusu kuletewa Ndege Koko na Radar Mshenzi!!

Back to you Mwananchi. Stop waiting for a Robin Hood to come and give you some. Robin Hood the prince of thieves does not exist any more. Forget about government hand outs. Get the facts straight, the country can not afford to accomodate you the way Mwalimu made sure that you had Sukari and Mkate.

Strangely, even the so called capitalist CUF and CHADEMA are singing praises of Ujamaa, kuwasaidia wananchi and they made some many welfare handout promisses and I had to ask myself, weren't they critical of Mwalimu and his Socialism?

Mwananchi, it has been 44 years since Mkoloni left. Stop being lazy, get up stand up and start working. Be innovative, find other ways of generating income and be active to challenge the government to provide you with you divine rights and constitutional needs.

Remember when Wateule met in Zanzibar in 1992 in the name of Utandawazi and all othe structural adjustments program that led to Upinzani or vyama vingi? In reality, Vyama vingi was just a smoke screen so that Wateule could start to limbikiza mali bila aibu. Go figure, Msekwa claims that there is no conflict of interest for him to be Chairman of Voda and being a Spika wa Bunge!!

Mwananchi, Wateule wamechuka vyao mapema, you are still singing songs of freedom.

Ask your representative;
Why there are no enough schools in your constituence?
Why do you have to walk 2 miles to fetch water?
Where is electricity?
What about medical care, even if you could afford to pay for it, where is it?
How come the roads are in bad shape?
Why are prices of your Mazao do not compensate the cost of uzalishaji?

Now since someone like Keenja barked at you and kukushushua kwenye mkutano wa kampeni, you got scared and enjoyed his Pilau and have given him another 5 years kutanua!!

As for my friends Wapinzani, Poleni sana, mlie tuu, mcheke mna mbavu!!!

In Singida, in one of the constituence, if opposition would have team up together, they could have secured the parliamentary seat, and this is also the case in about 5-10 constituences. Jamani unganeni, acheni ubabaishaji. 3 times is a charm, sasa hili goli la Kisigino lililowapumbaza si ndio yale mambo ya Yanga kuwazomea Simba na makocha Wazungu 'Mzungu bye bye'!! wakati magoli yalitinga kwenye wavu wa Msimbazi.

I have been asking the opposition (even giving advise) that this election was for them to focus on local governents and parliamentary seats, not Urahisi. Urahisi ni mgumu.

If Opposition could have created a strategy of gaining a minimum of 2 seats per each 26 region and close call on 3rd seat (to be contested in Mahakama!!), they could have secured easily close to 35% of the parliamentary votes. Same could have been done in local government level. That is how you create grass roots and mass mobilization (idara teule ya CCM, I think Chizi ndio nahodha).

If this could have happened in 2000 or this year, people could have seen matunda ya Upinzani and they could have gained faith to make a change. Lakini, there are always infighting in these Vyama and they get such publicity like Miss Kijitonyama. Negative publicity does not work, it destroys ones image. Mrema, Ngawaiya, Marandu, Seifu, Mbowe, Lipumba, Mtikila, Cheyo, Magessa and now Lwakatare.

CCM dirty laundry is unfortunatelly acceptable by the mass. May be its mazoea, no wonder we have our own super Lobbyst the Abramoff of Dunia Changa, the Rostams and such. It is not a secret CCM ni chafu. Hata hivyo Wananchi are saying, Heri Zimwi likujualo !!

Uchafu wa CCM unarudisha nyuma maendeleo ya mwananchi. 44 years later, we are still at the ealy stages of fighting Poverty, Illiteracy and Diseases!!

When Rostams show up with bakuli la mchele, mswahili meno nje nje, furaha ya ajabu. These people prey on our matatizo, shida na taabu to gain access to the policy makers of our country. To dictate policies of our future and to run over our constitutional rights. They are very clever, they will bring you Shule, Zahanati, Kanisa, Msikiti and well of course every 5 year Mnuso full of Pilau, Mshikaki, Bia and a Green and Yellow TShirt that say CCM ni Babayako!!

Umasikini has made us so dependent of hand outs that its a sin if no one passes kitu kidogo or saidia Baba. This is similar to Takrima that the Vigogo enjoys everyday with obnoxious contracts like Dar Water, NBC, TTCL, IPTL, Tanesco, Air Ikulu and Radar Mchoko.

All these are done for 'Taifa' and mwananchi has allowed these beasts to suck all the blood in the name of Amani, Utulivu na Mshikamano.

In muungano matters, the truth is Tumgidie bw ege game has been played. There will never be any Muafaka even if Pemba and Unguja wll be the richest countries in the world. I hate Muungano, because there is nothing that I benefit out of it. I can not go to Bwawani without passport and cover my chogo!! However, I am glad we have it and even though I hate Muungano, I will never let Zanzibar to be independent due to 2 main factors that can create instability in Mainland. Madawa ya Kulevya na Siasa kali za Udini.

Zanzibar has continued to be a haven of drug dealers and Radical muslims who share philosophy with Osama bin Laden and company. That is a threat to our Uhuru and Maendeleo.

Well enogh said, nimebwabwaja vya kutosha. Lets see what Madame Cleo and Sheikh Yahya have for us in future.

I would like to be in Dar Es Salaam in 2025 when I am close to retirement and work for either January Makamba or John Mnyika when they campaign for Uraisi wa Muungano. If we can promote these to young guns, may be there will be a change as long as the New Chinja Sumu Nchimbi is no longer in power :)!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
