Tunatembea na maumivu.... And unfortunately we don't realize it until it's rather late and we are projecting on the very people we are meant to protect.
The journey to healing trauma or childhood wounds is long and ugly... Just as much as it is painful but if it means no one else will undergo pain or attribute it to you then it is quite a necessary one. You have to say it ends with me.
Healing comes with a lot of forgiveness.... And almost always this does not come from people who have asked to be forgiven. Never. For instance all those whoopings we millennials got as kids should we expect our parents to apologize to us? No. We need to realize they were just as traumatized and didn't know better. Also we need to know that parenthood does not come with a manual or rehearsal period. They did that they thought was best for us.
Were you abused as a child... Even as a grown up... Sexually, emotionally, physically or something worse? You need to heal. And am not here to make it sound easy, no. How could it be easy? But you need to let go of the weight and the shame you feel... The heaviness in your heart is only weighing you down. Please seek help, heal young lady, heal young man. A better day will come some day.
We have all been through some form of trauma and we need not feel ashamed to reach out to counselling sessions that will heal us and make us better people. We really need to become better people. What you don't heal, you pass on.
Wishing you the best this Mothers Day. Stay Blessed Always.
