[h=1]Nelson Mandela spends 95th birthday in hospital[/h]Nelson Mandela is set to spend his 95th birthday in hospital in Pretoria, as events take place around the world and in South Africa in his honour.

happy Birthday President Mandela!

You are an amazing example of what believing in something and fighting for it while not loosing your dignity is all about

You are a very respected and loved man.
I pray for you to get better.
Mainly you know how loved you are...

God Bless and keep you alive for more years..

Nimeona kwenye msnbc news kuwa Mandela anaendelea vyema na anatarajiwa kuruhusiwa kurudi nyumbani muda wowote.Hivyo kuna uwezekano hayuko kwenye machine za kupumulia.

I wish him to get well soon.Kweli this man is a natural born surviver and fighter.

[h=1]Lesotho prays for Madiba[/h]
The Lesotho Royal Family says its government should consider incorporating Mandela Day as part of the King's birthday celebrations. Chief Khoabane Theko was speaking at a prayer service in Maseru for Madiba.

Mandela marked his 95th birthday the day after King Letsie the Third celebrated his 50th. Deputy Prime Minister Mothetjoa Metsing says it is fitting for Lesotho to honour Mandela as his fight for freedom benefited the entire world.

The Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho has dedicated July as a holy month to celebrate the 50th birthday anniversary of King Letsie the Third. Basotho from various religious groups gathered at the Setsoto Stadium in Maseru to pray for Madiba.

Catholic Archbishop Tlali Lerotholi says: “It's a holy year not for his majesty but for the whole country. We want to join the whole country, especially our neighbours South Africa. We want to pray for Ntate Mandela where he is in hospital that the will of God be done. If it's the will of God that he be miraculously be cure, we will be happy to have him back. But if it's the will of God that we should let him go please my Lord, prepare our hearts for him to go.”

Meanwhile, International Mandela Day has come and gone but many people give way more than 67minutes every year to a good cause.

In an informal settlement near Lotus River, outside Cape Town, a 68-year-old woman, Dinah van Wyk, devotes her life to helping children in need. One of them is a ten-year-old, wheelchair-bound boy.

Van Wyk's generous spirit and open heart have given the boy a new lease on life. She says it's simply the right thing to do.

“I love them. Their parents don’t have time for them. And I feel that I want to raise and care for them.”

GET WELL TATA...

[h=1]Mandela getting stronger[/h]

Former president Nelson Mandela is getting stronger, his grandson Mandla Mandela said on Monday after a weekend visit.

"The visit left me with a warm feeling, because my grandfather is getting stronger and stronger every day," he said.

The improvement "is particularly heartening, because it flies in the face of those who have been busy spreading lies that Madiba is in a 'vegetative state' and just waiting for his life support machines to be switched off.

"Madiba has defied these hurtful statements and continues to prove his fighting spirit that has defined him over the many years of his life," Mandela said in a statement released on his grandfather's 44th day in hospital.

He visited his grandfather at the Medi-Clinic Heart Hospital, in Pretoria, on Sunday. Nelson Mandela's daughter Zenani Mandela also visited on Sunday.

The anti-apartheid icon was critically ill with a lung infection when he was admitted to hospital early on June 8, after his ambulance broke down on the way there. He spent his 95th birthday in hospital last week.

A steady stream of support has been kept up for the anti-apartheid icon and his family, by visitors who leave flowers, cards and candles at the entrance to the hospital, and at his home in Houghton, Johannesburg.

The presidency, which provides updates from time to time, has also said he is steadily improving.

Mandla Mandela said he attended a prayer service arranged by the AbaThembu in KwaZulu-Natal at the Ethekwini Community Church on Sunday.

He said he was grateful for the overwhelming messages of support from South Africans and around the world.

"We continue to be grateful to the South African government, the African National Congress... and the doctors in charge of Madiba's health during this period."

He and some of Nelson Mandela's descendants are in a court dispute over the reburial of the remains of some of the anti-apartheid icon's children and grandchildren.
