Kuna mtu kaongea jambo la maana hapo juu. "Kwamba wana diaspora wa bongo, wangerudi bongo na waka weka pesa zao collectively na kushirikiana na vijana wa vyo n.k". Good Point, but one MAJOR problem. WATANZANIA! Sisi wabongo, nitwatu wagumu sana kubadilika, kujaribu kubadilika au kukubali mabadiliko na kuambatana nayo. WE SIMPLY DON'T WANT TO EVOLVE! I don't mean to generalize Tanzanian people as a whole, but the majority of us that i have run into- personally and in business ni watu wa ajabu sana.
1. Sisi ni wavivu sana. Mara nyingi naona watanzania wenzangu, tunapenda kukata kona sana. Tunapenda ujanja ujanja, deal deal, mishen town nyingi. Sikatai tusiwe wajanja, basi tujielimishe basi. Unaenda bongo, unakutana na "real estate" agent. Maujanja kibao, maneno kibao, sasa muulize maswali utaona anavyobabiaka. Unakutana na mtu anasema yeye mjasiriamali. Sawa, haya niambie biashara gani umefanya, umeanzaje, uko wapi sasa. Sikiliza hizo porojo. Tuache ubabaishaji na kutaka kukata kona in everything. Success doesn't happen over night. YOU HAVE TO TOIL FOR IT!
2. Watanzia wengi ARE NOT visionaries. I have ran into a lot of successful(financially) Tz folks, and very few were/are visionaries. Kuona mbali na kupanga mikakati ya mbali, haipo kwenye DNA yetu. But we can learn, and learning doesn't have to be in school. Mtu unakutana nae bongo, unamwambia i have 5 Thousand USD, i want to invest in your company(true story) but before i do that, tell me your goals with this business. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Anasema ohh, mi bwana, mi bwana nataka tu nifanye biashara(true answer) ok, najua hilo so tell me the vision of your business? Ah bwana unajua hali kwa sasa... Maelezo mengi but nothing coherent. Na usiseme oh labda ulimuuliza kwa kingereza na alikua haelewi. NOP! Though i prefer English as my language of business, i understand sio wote wanaongea kingereza. Na you don't have to be fluent in English to be a good business person. So i spoke swahili with them.
3. Most of the Tanzanian's i've met... Abroad and back home, hatupendi kujiendeleza kimasomo, kifikira, hata kinteligencia. We simply don't evolve. Humans as species, we had to evolve to get where we are now. It's a continuous thing, and us Tanzanians are stuck in the same spot. Ndio mana mpaka leo, bado tunaajiri foreigners to build our country. Yes we recieve less foreign aid, but nionyeshe barabara bongo iliojengwa na watanzania peke yao. From Engineers, planners, surveyors, etc. Bila mzungu yeyote! What do we manufacture, that has impact in our daily lives? Most of the things we need, we import. Sisemi we can't do it, but we have to change our mindset before we get there. Mtu bongo hata ku google tatizo. REALLY??!! it's 2016 for pits sake. Sisemi ujue yote, but how about you push yourself to learn more about the information world we live in?
Hili, lisikukatishe tamaa kufanya biashara nyumbani. But you have to spend extra time to seek people(very few) with vision, raw talent and desire to evolve. So kwa huyo mtu aliesema hapo juu, kuhusu watu wabeba box waende bongo na kusaidia vijana etc. I think it's a great point, but also due to the lack of certain things it's also a very flawed point.
P.S Funny thing about evolving. Jamii Forums imekua for how long now? about 5-8 Years( i could be wrong) lakini bado the site has the most ridiculous bugs to date. The comment section is a mess, it lags, the latency sucks. Huwezi andika an message inbox, back to back. YOU HAVE TO WAIT a few seconds? REALLY? They couldn't write a simple code to execute that? The page is all over the place. SIIPONDEI, i am simply just showing you, how we can do it different but i don't think a few things like that bugs us. DETAILS. WE IGNORE THEM.
Kwa wale mnaopenda, ingieni.
www.reddit.com muangalie wenzetu wanavyo execute simple forum websites of today. And maybe learn a thing or two, and we develope our own or make this one better.
