September 23, 2017, is a day that will live long in the memory of Marcos Llorente, given that it has been announced that his Real Madrid contract is to be renewed, the same afternoon that he returned to his former club Alaves and received a standing ovation.

Llorente, who forms part of the first-team squad for the first time this season, had a contract which would have expired in 2019, but this has now been renewed by another two years.

This is the latest in a series of contract renewals, with the likes of Karim Benzema, Dani Carvajal, Isco and Marcelo all having put pen to paper in recent weeks.

Llorente will appear before the media on Sunday to speak about his new deal at 14:00 CET.

Real Madrid player ratings against Alaves: Isco shines without Kroos and Modric

After the disappointment of midweek, it was vital that Real Madrid returned to winning ways against Alaves on Saturday and they were successful in doing so, with Isco shining in the absence of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

He saved Los Blancos early on by blocking a potential Cristiano Ronaldo own-goal. He was beaten by the unstoppable effort from Manu Garcia but was faultless in aerial battles.

The Spanish defender appeared to play with the upcoming clash with Borussia Dortmund in mind. Alaves barely tested him and he was reluctant to move forward in attack.

Varane was slow to anticipate the hosts' goal and Alfonso Pedraza gave him a torrid time from the bench.

He was more proactive in the opposing penalty area than his own. He had very little to do defensively, although a couple of Burgui runs in the first half tested the captain.

Nacho is always reliable in any position. He deputised at left-back in Marcelo's absence and did well.

15059303426444.jpg

Casemiro played professionally, as always. His passing was less accurate than normal but he acted as an excellent shield just ahead of the defence.

It was a match that Isco could run from midfield. In the absence of Kroos and Modric the former Malaga playmaker was the senior midfielder and he produced a masterclass in control.

Ceballos provided the goal-scoring spark that Los Blancos have been lacking of late. His brace handed the visitors all three points and it was the perfect way for the 21-year-old to mark his first start as a Real Madrid player.

Lucas Vazquez worked hard in defence and tracked back well. He looked for the one-on-one matchups when attacking and was unfortunate not to receive more of a reward.

Asensio was too far from the opposition penalty area to be as effective as he usually seeks to be. He provided the assist to Ceballos' first goal and put further chances on a plate for Ronaldo and Vazquez, both of whom missed.

Ronaldo is still searching for his first LaLiga goal. He hit the post twice and you feel as though it was an afternoon where he could have played until the early hours of the morning and still not found the net. Yet Zidane will have been impressed by his sharpness.

Marcos Llorente was afforded a fine reception as he returned to his old club and it was a day that will live long in his memory.

Borja Mayoral was only on the pitch for the final two minutes of play, so he didn't have time to contribute.

Real Madrid develop serious refereeing suspicions
15062679905634.jpg

It is thought to have been years in the making but only now, in Real Madrid's opinion, is the organised officiating bias against Los Blancos taking effect.

Amid the aftermath of Angel Maria Villar's arrest and the subsequent shake-up at the Spanish FA (RFEF), Real feel that Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo and former Barcelona chief Joan Gaspart have been formulating a way to punish the Champions League holders.

Back in 2004, Florentino Perez backed Gerardo Gonzalez Otero in the RFEF run-off against Villar, since which the Madrid side have been cut off from the governing body's establishment until just under a year ago.

Remaining in the background over the years, only now it is emerging what some are comparing to a Calciopoli sized scandal, and since Villar's arrest Real feel the tide has turned dramatically against them.

It all began with the soft penalty given for Luis Suarez's tumble in the Supercopa de Espana and Cristiano Ronaldo's red card later in the first leg clash.

From there, Madrid have five penalties they feel were denied them in unfair fashion, along with harsh expulsions as Marcelo and Sergio Ramos have both seen red.

In public, the past weeks have seen Zinedine Zidane and club captain Ramos feel the need to speak out on this matter, the defender claiming: "I am not surprised that they don't award penalties for us, but that they do for Barcelona."

Now that the RFEF is due a big turnover post-Villar, Real hope to be part of a change that will see total equality instilled across LaLiga, as they feel that the season's decisions so far have been far from a coincidence.

Bundi anatafuta tawi atue.

Mfano. Goals za dk za mwisho za Ramos peke yake ziliipa Madrid points 11 laliga
Lakini msimu huu, kutokana na sababu ambazo mnazijua ninyi, come backs zimeshindikana kabisa, at least for now
