May be I should make it clear to you that Tanzanians, though quite, polite and peaceful, are war monglers. It shouldn't therefore, come to surprise that we spend a significant chunk of our precisious time to discuss about war with Kagame. We always wish someone could provoke us to fight. Sadly Kagame is only going half way towards our trap. We love to fight where there is reason for that. The presence of our soldiers in different parts of the world is point in case.

The war in Eastern Congo is about many complex reasons on top which are the following;
1. Security - Rwanda feels unsafe with FDLR and other extremist Hutu murderous groups lurking in its backyard
2. Economy - Rwanda and Uganda have vested interests in eastern DRC and so does Pres Kabila and his cronies from Kinshasa

So do fall for this ba-Hima empire myth that swirls around like a wayward kite. Hakuna makitu hiyo.

Siyo tu kwamba Rwanda feels unsafe with FDLR and other extremist Hutu, but the current regime in Kigali feels unsafe with everyone who does not speak the same language with it. It includes even the Tusi colleagues who established the regime.

For the past few months or so, Kagame has been on front pages of Tanzanian minds and thoughts. If the time you use everyday discussing Kagame was spent productively I believe that your GDP would have increased a percentage point. Just thinking out loud.

Sources inside Rwandan security say that Kayumba problems began in 2001 when he left Rwanda for a military course at the Royal Military College of Science in Shrivenham in Britain. He had organised it when he was still chief of staff without informing the commander in chief. Kagame got to know about it when it had already materialised.

Later, when Kayumba called Gen. James Kabarebe, at that time his deputy, to inform him that he was handing over the operations to him, Kabarebe was equally shocked. Kayumba action was tantamount to abandoning the army for a course in the middle of a serious national security problem. Army sources in Kigali claim that Kabarebe presented this concern to Kayumba who answered, again casually with some laughter that: You come here and fight! Let me go. When I come back, I will still find these wars going on. Kabarebe felt that Kayumba spoke in a manner which suggested that the insurgency could not be ended
