We have held our first campaign rally in Mbuya, Nakawa East where we have been welcomed by swarms of supporters that filled our venue. Just as we anticipated, the regime police again tried to block us from accessing the venue in our planned time, and went on to fire tear gas at our peaceful people who were waiting to wave at us.

Our message of freedom has sank into the minds of our people of Nakawa East. We have rallied them to vote for the umbrella symbol across all electoral levels in order to be part of our protest vote cause.

Nearly two hours later, we are still held in the middle of the road, just 10 minutes away from our rally venue in Kabarole! The criminal regime police insists that we use an alternative, rural route which would delay us from reaching the rally by several hours. We had already encountered numerous similar blockades on our journey to Bunyangabu District which made it impossible for us to campaign there! Meanwhile, we're just a few minutes to the end of the allowed campaign time!

It’s already 7:00pm and it’s past campaign time, but we’re still held at the road block by the police and military just a few meters away from what would have been our campaign venue in Fort Portal. Since 3pm when we were stopped here, no other vehicle – be it an ambulance – has been allowed through to go either side. We do not know what they intend to do to us.

We have entered Bundibugyo district. Our message to the people of Obudhingiya bwa Bwamba is simple. Let us be united and drive away this exploitative regime that has denied our people a chance to thrive economically. Bundibugyo is predominantly a cocoa growing community but it is absurd that the profits do not correspond with the efforts of the farmers. We have tasked them to rally behind NUP which shall put in place policies that accommodate the local farmer to gain from their efforts.

📍 From Bundikahungu Primary School playground, in Bundibugyo district, we have rallied the people of Obudhingiya bwa bwamba to be part of the national liberation struggle.

We have preached to them our message of freedom, charged them with the duty to protect their economic interests specifically the cocoa production sector, and also tasked them to be part of the solution to redeeming Uganda from bad governance, nepotism, and corruption. The reception has been massive and we are super grateful to them. Mwasinja kutsibu!
