New law on divorce in China

China has a new divorce law effective 1 February 2025.

Previous all properties owned by either spouse will be equally divided during divorce, now the rule is a lot simpler.

Whoever paid for it owns it after divorce even if the wife's name was added to the title after marriage.

And houses gifted to the husband by his parents will remain his property even after divorce and will not be considered shared matrimonial property.

此前，离婚时夫妻双方所有财产均应均分，现在的规定简单多了。

即使妻子的名字在婚后添加到房产证中，离婚后仍归付款人所有。

父母赠予丈夫的房产，即使离婚后仍归丈夫所有，不被视为夫妻共同财产。
