As of June 2, 2026, the ministry of health has confirmed six new cases of Ebola, bringing the total number of cases to 15. As of June 2, 2026, the president of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has not yet held a state of the nation address in regards to the matters pertaining Ebola and its statistics. However, there is a state of the Nation address slated for tomorrow, Thursday June 4.

As of today, June 3 (Martrys Day), churches all across the nation are clebrating the religious holiday at parish level while operating under strict standard operating procedures and having been cleared to hold the celebrations by the ministry of health.

CLAIM

A video making rounds on TikTok, posted by an account under the handle, @silentmedia0, claims that His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa held a state of the nation address in which he conirmed 74 new ebola cases in Kampala and suspended operations of public places of worship for a month. However, the president has not yet held any state of the nation address in regards to Ebola. The video posted was extracted from a state of the nation address held on Mrch 18, 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ministry of health has also confirmed a total of 15 new cases of ebola and not 74.

The video is used in false context and is misleading.
