Mkono threatens to take over secondary school in Musoma Send to a friend Thursday, 30 December 2010 21:47 digg The Musoma Rural Member of Parliament, Mr Nimrod Mkono, has threatened to revoke the government ownership of Oswald Mang'ombe High School if serious measures will not be taken to rescue it from total collapse. Mr Mkono threatened to revoke the ownership of the school during the launching of the school board on Tuesday. He said he was not satisfied with the way the school was being run. Speaking to journalists at the school premises, Mr Mkono said: "I handed over the school to the government last year at a ceremony where President Jakaya Kikwete promised that his government would run it" He said construction of the school, which is situated at Busegwe area in Musoma District, had cost him a lot of money and he was surprised by the way the government was running it. He said currently the school has only five teachers who cannot meet the demands of students. Apart from that no efforts were taken by the government to ensure that the buildings are maintained.
