Kamugisha Kazaura received the B.Eng. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Bath, UK, in 1995. He then worked as a telecoms engineer for the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Ltd. (TTCL), Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, from 1996 to 2002. He later joined Waseda Universitys Graduate School of Global Information and Telecommunication Studies, Tokyo, Japan, where he received his M.Sc and PhD degrees in 2002 and 2007 respectively. He is now a full-time Visiting Lecturer at Waseda Universitys Advanced Research Institute for Science and Engineering (RISE). His research interests lie within the general fields of technologies for fixed and mobile high-speed wireless communication networks, free-space optical (FSO) communication systems and innovative access technologies for next generation networks. His current work involves research and development of an advanced DWDM Radio on Free-Space Optical Communication system suitable for transmission of multiple RF signals.
