Life should not be estimated exclusively by the standard of dollars and cents.
I am not disposed to complain that I have planted and others have gathered the fruits. A man has cause for regret only when he sows and no one reaps.
And yet how much you earn is no indication of your potential to accumulate wealth, either.
There are lorry drivers and office cleaners who quietly accumulated wealth using the techniques that came out of Babylon more than 8000 years ago.
There are also high-flying stockbrokers with million pound bonuses who live so far beyond their means that they are worse than broke, so how much money you make is also irrelevant.
As long as you have an income or a way to make money, you have the potential to create wealth.
Hard work without consideration for what you do with your earnings is as futile as laziness. You have to be clever about what you do with what you earn, regardless of how much that is.
Otherwise you will come to realise, as Bansir did, that you have been working "year after year living slavish lives. Working, working, working! Getting nowhere..."
The world does not owe us a living. We need to take charge of our money.
HERE'S AN IDEA FOR YOU...
If you're working hard and wondering where it all goes — find out. Look back over the last month and calculate where your salary was spent. There is no point working like a dog if the money you make slips through your hands.
First make an estimate of what was spent on different things and then calculate the truth.
