IMF wathibitisha, Serikali imeishiwa!

Ndugu Mdondoaji,
Kwa hiyo Agriculture, Tourism and services eg. our ports, minerals can bring a lot of forex if we really get serious. We have the potential.
b. At the same time, ukiwa una export more than importing fedha yako iko likely kuwa very stable, so the salaries siyo kitu kinachoturudisha nyuma, mabbe the distribution or minimization of income gap through posho.
c. Wataalam ni poa, ila watu huwa tuna complicate sana uchumi, like we need a professor to be our president, no!... It's about dedication and listening to everyday people like us. But wataalam if carefully chosen, they won't hurt.
d. We are the second innefficient nation in the word after Uzbekstan when it comes to Energy. we use twice as much oil per dollar of GDP compared to Kenya. Lets say if we had the same coefficient as Kenya for example, our oil that we import could've produced or support twice as much GDP (ALMOST 45BIL$) with the same amount of oil imports.
Lets stop using cars unneccessarily and start using public transportation in big cities, let's regulate the quality of our public transportation, let's encourage the use of coal, extensively by mining our own, let's use gas extensively, let's increase our productivity. Let's have Insurance to cover our roads maintance, lets modernise our house appliances...save and take care of our forests and water sources so we can have a reliable HEP.
etc...etc...etc

Revenue collection is increasing, actually in a very good pace. But it's the value of Shilling that is decreasing faster than the revenue. Im not really interested in Shillings. It's the forex that is killing us.

Mkuu badala ya kusema tuu "revenue collection is increasing, actually in very a good pace", si utupe data ku-justify unachosema? Just in March this year, boss wa TRA alisema TRA in collaboration with the government was working hard to ensure that tax exemption issue is controlled by closely dealing with some customers who abuses the relief for their own interests. From March to date unaweza kuniambia ni collaboration gani tayari is in place kati ya TRA na serikali as far as the tax exemption is concerned ili kuongeza revenue?

Ninachosoma ni kwamba Tanzania may introduce what is referred to as "super profit tax" on mineral increase revenue. African Barrick responded immediately that its mines in Tanzania are subject to Mineral Development Agreements that guarantee tax and "fiscal stabilization" for projects. That the accords can't be amended without the company's approval. AngloGold said its Geita mine in Tanzania won't be affected because an existing arrangement is valid for the life of the mine. Yaani watakomba dhahabu yote pale, wakimaliza wanaanza na kutuachia mashimo.

Kama Zitto alivyosema, the government proposal of "super profit tax" is not only vague, irresponsible and sends the wrong signal to investors but also it doesn't appear as a source of funding even in next fiscal year's tax measures.

Pamoja na ushabiki, kuna tatizo lingine la msingi......humu ndani, wengi wetu sio critical and analytical thinker bali ni political thinkers!!! Economic data zinahitaji critical and reasonable thinking na ndio maana unakuta mkuu EMT anabisha kwamba makusanyo hayaongezeki huku data alizo-quote zinaonesha kuna ongezeko!!!!! Tuliosoma A-Level mwishoni mwa miaka ya 1990 na early 2000's, watakumbuka kwamba ilikuwa ni NADRA sana, tena sana mtu kukuta amepata A or B ya Economics A-Level. Ilikuwa hata ukipata C, basi fahamu utakuwa upo kwenye 10 best students TZ !!!!! The reason behind, kulikuwa na paper 2 wakati ule(am not sure abt cku hizi). Paper I ni paper ambayo ilihitaji tu kusoma madaftari na kukariri na Paper II ilikuwa ni paper iliyohitaji zaidi critical and reasonable thinking kuliko kusoma madaftari. Kwa critical and reasonable thinker, angeweza kufanya na kufaulu Paper II hata bila ya kusoma lakini paper I ilikuwa ni lazima usome!!! More often than not, watu walikuwa wanababua sana (na kupata hata A) kwenye Paper I; lakini ilipokuja Paper II, A zote zingeweza kuwa dropped to C, or even D!!!! Economics, is all about critical and reasonable thinking, otherwise tutaishia ku-define economy in political persepectives ambazo most likely zinakuwa biased!! Lipumba, ni among the Greatest Economist in the country, lakini unatakiwa kuangalia jukwaa analotumia pale anapozungumzia masuala ya uchumi! Is it political or academic/proffesional platform!!! Atakapokuwa kwenye political platform lazima atakuwa bias as compared to professional platform.

Nadhani in this case politics determine the policies ambazo zinaaffect uchumi mzima wa nchi.

EconStats : Tanzania | IMF World Economic Outlook

Kuna indicators nyingi mno!... but scroll down to Government revenue, itakuonyesha from 1991 to 2009, pia naomba ujaribu ku scroll to the right ili uone figures za miaka hiyo.
R0ughly we went from 0.2 trillion in 1991 to about 5trillion in 2009.

Reactions: EMT
In 2010/2011 makusanyo ya serikali(domestic revenue) yalikuwa makubwa (8.3 Trillion) wakati bajeti was only 11.6 Trillion......

Mkuu sijakuwelewa au labda macho yangu yamechoka. According to taarifa ya Mr Luoga (TRA deputy Commissioner) ya March 2011, inasema the July-February 2010/11 tax collection was equal to 67 per cent of the annual target of Sh 5.652 trillion. Ukiangalia hapo, ilikuwa imebakia miezi minne tuu mwaka wa fedha uishe. Anasema, the highest monthly collection was recorded in December 2010 (which is understandable), when TRA managed for the first time to collect Sh 572.3 billion. Ina maana from March to June 2011, TRA waliweza kukusanya zaidi ya sh 2.6 trillion? Kwamba by February 2011 walikuwa tayari wameshafikia target yao? If so, why that collection was equal to 67% of the annual target of Sh 5.652 trillion?

Kaka hao wamezoa kukopa ili kununua khanga, wao neno kukopa ndio walilolielewa hapo.

Mkuu that is interesting b'se kwa mujibu wa TRA wanasema they collected only Sh 4.051 trillion in 2008/09 against its targeted Sh 4.497 trillion and 2009/10 TRA performance dropped from the targeted Sh 4.855 trillion to Sh 4.437 trillion. Hizi 5 trillion, IMF wamezipata wapi?

Government revenue is mainly but not only taxes. Kuna income zingine huwa zinapatikana kutokana na interests za akiba ya serikali...etc, I expect you to know that.

Mkuu hapo kwenye red, post yangu ilinukuliwa nusu. This was my full post.

8 months is 67% of 12months. NazDaz's data are doubtful.

Merekani wanakopa itakuwa Tanzania? mnanchekesha!

Without forgetting foreign aid.
Yeah... you know even a nation like Israel gets foreign aid, Egypt etc... a lot of foreign aid. So, trust me thats how it's gon be until we get off our butts and work harder and smarter.
