The concoction has no harm on human beings - researchers
PM: Govt to create conducive environment for pastor`s services
Retired pastor Ambilikile Masapile
Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has endorsed the miracle cure administered by retired pastor Ambilikile Masapila (his proper names) as fit for human consumption, adding however that efficacy tests were going on.
It is a long process which cannot be completed in a short period of time, said Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority Acting Director General Charys Ugullum when unveiling results of the laboratory analysis on the sample of the miracle cure to journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
The investigation which has been conducted so far has yielded satisfactory results that the measurement used by Babu in dispensing the concoction is not harmful to human beings, she said, adding: So far we are satisfied by its safety.
She however said that the researchers were continuing with investigation into whether the herbal medicine can cure the five diseases as claimed by pastor Masapila.
This task, implemented according to world scientific rules and regulations, takes a long time to achieve acceptable national and international standards, Ugullum said.
She said the researchers were also following up on the health of some 200 patients who have taken the herbal medicine.
These patients have volunteered to be involved in the investigation to know their health status after taking the medication, Ugullum said.
She said the government was planning to make a follow up on the use of the treatment tree in other parts of the country because there were reports that it has been used by other tribes like Wagogo, Maasai, Wabarbaig and Wasonjo.
The investigation team included people from TFDA, Muhimbili University for Health and Allied Sciences, Government Chemist and National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR).
