Bellow is according to BBC Sport Chelsea have agreed a £30m deal to sign attacking midfielder Willian from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, subject to a work permit hearing.

The 25-year-old Brazilian was close to joining Tottenham after having a medical on Wednesday.

Sources close to the player said Chelsea have made enquiries or offers for his services in every transfer window since 2011.

Gareth Bale is expected to be formally unveiled as a Real Madrid player on Tuesday after a world record transfer.

Gareth Bale arrived in Spain on Saturday night before completing a world record transfer to Real Madrid, for a fee condemned by Barcelona's manager, Gerardo Martino, as
representing "a lack of respect to the world in
general". Speaking as Bale arrived in Marbella before his expected formal unveiling on Tuesday, Martino said the deal, which will eclipse the £80m Madrid paid for Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009, sits uneasily in the current economic climate, and does not fit well with the spirit of Uefa's new financial fair-play rules.

"Bale is a very good player," said the Argentinian, "but the numbers involved in this transfer show a lack of respect to the world in general." Barcelona, led by Martino since he replaced Tito Vilanova this summer, themselves paid £51.3m for the Brazil forward Neymar during the transfer window. Real are understood to have made Tottenham two offers, one structured over three to four years, and the other an up-front, one-off payment. A player could also be included as a makeweight in the second deal.

Real play Granada in La Liga on Monday night, with the exact timing of the unveiling ceremony, for which the club have constructed a special stage inside the Bernabéu stadium, now depending on Tottenham's final verdict.

Former Real Madrid winger Steve McManaman says Gareth Bale will have to focus on his football in the intense spotlight at the Spanish club.

The Tottenham midfielder, 24, is believed to be the subject of a world record bid from the La Liga side.

“If you've got a new coat it will be in the paper, if you've got a new haircut it will be in the paper”. Steve McManaman Ex-Real Madrid McManaman, 41, said: "Everybody will want a slice of him.

"Everybody will want to speak to him about his car, shoes, whether he's had a haircut, what house he lives in, who's his gardener."
The Wales international's transfer has yet to be agreed, but it could happen in the coming days and is set to eclipse the £80m world record fee Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Former England and Liverpool winger McManaman, who won two Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles in four years at Real, told BBC Radio 5 live's Sportsweek programme: "Real Madrid is a different animal to Tottenham. He knows the spotlight will be on him.

"He knows the transfer fee will be huge and the pressure will be on him. It will not come as a surprise to him.

"Most importantly, if he goes out onto the football field and performs the way he has done, he will win everybody over in a heartbeat."

The number 11 shirt, which Bale wears at White Hart Lane, has been left vacant at Real Madrid in the expectation their new record signing will take it on his arrival - an arrival which McManaman said would be accompanied by much fanfare.
