Uganda held a presidential election. The Electoral Commission declared incumbent Yoweri Museveni the winner with roughly 71.6% of the vote; Bobi Wine (Robert Kyagulanyi) placed second with about 24.7%. He rejected the result as rigged and had been in hiding since the vote, with soldiers reportedly raiding his home the day after the election.
Bobi wine fled Uganda in the aftermath of the January 15 Presidential elections, saying he was escaping a military manhunt following the disputed election. Since then he has been in exile in the United States, from where he seeks international support and continues his opposition to President Museveni. He claimed his Reason for leaving was the fear for his life and his family and an active military search for him after refusing to accept the election result.

The TikTok video (account @sulpha.star) shows two screenshots purporting to be tweets from Bobi Wine's verified X account (@HEBobiwine) stating:
- He will not return to Uganda and has no problem with Muhoozi Kainerugaba "standing as president."
- An "apology," saying his "contract is over" and that he is "now an American, not a Ugandan."
No matching posts on the real account. After JamiiCheck conducted A review of Bobi Wine’s verified X account (@HEBobiwine), it shows no trace of the two tweets circulating in the TikTok video.
