Claim
A video circulating on Tiktok claims to show opposition leader Bobi Wine visiting Tooro Kingdom following the death of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died on August 27, 2026. The video is being shared as though the visit happened during the current mourning period.

What We Found
•After subjecting key frames to Google reverse Image search, we ascertained that The video is not from the current mourning period. It was posted on July 14, 2025, showing Bobi Wine and musician King Saha visiting Kigo Prison.Watch here.

During the visit, Bobi Wine met inmates, including TikToker Madubarah and other detainees.
The video has been reused and given new context to make it appear that Bobi Wine had travelled to Tooro to mourn King Oyo.
King Oyo died on August 27, 2026, and his remains returned to Uganda on September 4, 2026, meaning the video predates his death by more than a year.
Bobi Wine is currently outside Uganda. He fled the country in March 2026 after saying he feared for his safety following threats and a security crackdown after the January elections.
Verdict: MISLEADING
The video is genuine, but it is an old video from Bobi Wine’s 2025 visit to Kigo Prison, not a visit to Tooro Kingdom following King Oyo’s death. The current context attached to the video is therefore false.
