Nani amekuambia geza eti hatuna $2 bn. Geza wachanga madharau saa zingine. Yaani wewe hujui budget yetu this year ni $30 bn? Duh wewe unajua mambo mengi kuhusu Kenya unajua tunaeza afford kujenga sgr kutoka Mombasa hadi Nairobi kila mwaka na tutabaki na change. Shida ni corruption na stupidly high wage bill. 2% of Kenyans get paid 50% of budget according to President Uhuru's speech in state of the nation adress. Kenya ina pesa vibaya sana, tatizo ni inatumika aje? Usije tena siku nyingine kuuliza kama tuna pesa, afadhali uhoji pesa inaenda wapi

In theory uko sahihi lakini hatujui kama bei ya mizigo itapunguzwa kama sgr ya Kenya na wenye malori kunyimwa biashara kama ilivyofanyika sgr. GOK ikitaka kitu ifaulu itatumia mbinu zote, whether it makes profit or not. Issue hapa ni image. Wakenya watafurahi wakiona port imefufuka. Hata mimi nitafurahi, saa zingine mambo ya profit and loss inakuja baadaye
Hili ni kosa kubwa sana mnalofanya, lengo la kufufua hii bandari ni ili kukuza uchumi wa Kisumu na kutengeneza ajira, lengo sio kufurahisha wananchi kwa ajili ya kupata kura wakati wa uchaguzi.

Kumbukeni kwamba hizi ni pesa za wananchi ambazo wamewakabidhi dhamana viongozi ili wazitumie kwa ajili ya faida kwa nchi nzima.

Viongozi walipaswa kuainisha sababu zilizosababisha bandari ya Kisumu kusimamisha shughuli zake miaka ya nyuma, na kuzirekebisha kabla ya kuifufua.

Hii bandari ya Kisumu, ninakuhakikishia itasimamisha " Operations " zake tena ndani ya muda mfupi baada ya kuzinduliwa, haitovuka 2022 itakua jmeanza kufa kwasababu zifuatazo;
1) Kisumu port, competes with SGR for cargo to Uganda and DRC instead complimenting each other.
2)There is no feeders to feed the port.

Ni maamuzi ya kisiasa zaidi ndugu zetu wa Kisumu na wao wapate kitu cha kujivunia...
Ningependa kushirikisha mawazo yangu ili kuibua mjadala kuhusu bandari ya Kisumu ambayo punde tu itakusanya marais 5 kuizindua. Nimefikiria sana kuhusu hii bandari umuhimu wake kwa sasa, bado sijapata muunganiko wake.

Bandari ya Kisumu iliacha kufanyakazi zaidi ya miaka 12 iliyopita, sababu kubwa iliyosababisha kudorora pamoja na mambo menigine, ni kutokana na wafanyabiashara wengi wa Uganda kutumia usafiri wa reli na barabara, ambao ukipakia "cargo", hazishushwi hadi Uganda, yaani gharama za upakiaji na ushushaji ni Mara mbili tu.

Kwasababu hiyo, reli ya kuelekea Kisumu ilikosa mizigo na kuachwa ikajifia kabisa, kutokana na naekezo ya James Macharia, reli kuelekea Kisumu inahitaji kujengwa upya sio kukarabatiwa. Swali ninalojiuliza, kama hakuna reli inayoelekea Kisumu, je bandari ya Kisumu inaungana vipi na Mombasa, au Kisumu Port haitegemei mizigo ya Uganda na DRC?.

Bila shaka "Kisumu port" lengo lake ni hizi nchi za Uganda na DRC, je itatumia mfumo upi wa usafirishaji ambao utakua ni bei nafuu na ni haraka. Tumeambiwa bandari ya Mwanza itatumia mfumo wa "Railway - Marine - Railway", ambao ni " integrated ", yaani mabehewa hayashushi mizigo kutoka Dar- hadi Kampala au Jinja Uganda, Kisumu port itatumia mfumo upi kama hakuna reli inayofika Kisumu?.

Kuna usafiri wa Mahindi na mchele toka TANZANIA na Zambia. Kuelekea S Sudani. Kuna mizigo toka Malawi kuja kenya. DRC mwingi Sana Kupitia leka Tanganyika. Burundi Kuna maharage.

Kama ile barabara kutoka Mombasa hadi Nairobi haijahusisha Wakenya hasa wanauchumi. Nina masomo kidogo ya uchumi na kwangu ni wazi hio project ni ya upuzi. In economics, the basic law ni eti resources are scarce. Capital, land and labour ni scarce sana na hizi factors of production zinastahili kutunzwa kwa umakini sana. Tayari tuna Sgr ambayo haijafika 100 percent utility rate na pia tuna barabara ambayo haijaharibika na kwa kawaida haina jam. Ukizingatia hayo mambo mawili mwanauchumi yeyote atakueleza kuwa we are not optimally allocating our resources. Kuharibu zaidi bei ya huo mradi umeongezwa kwa lengo la corruption. Optimal allocation of resources ni kama kujenga transport infrasture, kisha electricity generation and distribution, kisha special economic zone pamoja na port. Nadhani hivi ndio China walifanya. Sisi tumekwama kwa Infrastructure. Tumeshindwa kujenga affordable electricity resource na mbaya zaidi tumeshindwa kabisa kujenga SEZs ambazo zitacreate employment na kuincrease export of Kenyan value-added products thereby improving our balance of payment position. Kwanza unemployment haitaisha Kenya hadi industries zijengwe kama ambavyo Ethiopia wanafanya. Industries hazitajengwa mpaka tuwe na affordable power. Japo Kibaki na Uhuru wote wamesomea uchumi lakini Kibaki alielewa hili ila Uhuru alienda shule kula mandazi.
