Arsenal have launched an enquiry to sign prolific attacker Luka Jovic, according to reports in Spain.

Jovic has had a barnstorming season with Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from Benfica, scoring 15 goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances, and Europe’s elite clubs are understood to be queueing up for the 21-year-old striker.

Reports last month claimed that Chelsea were plotting a £39million bid for Jovic and the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City have also been linked with the sought-after Serbia international.

Marca suggests that Arsenal are among the clubs to have asked about Jovic following his meteoric rise in Germany – and the Gunners remain interested in the youngster.

The north London club have enquired about how much it would cost to prise Jovic away from Benfica.

However, the report adds that Real Madrid have been offered Jovic’s services and are in pole position to sign the attacker in the summer.

Jovic admitted last month that he felt ‘honoured’ to be linked with top clubs from around Europe.

‘I’m honoured, of course, for such big clubs to show an interest in me,’ the Serbian told Sportsbuzzer.

‘But right now I’m happy to be here in Frankfurt and I feel good here.

‘At the moment I’m just concentrating on Eintracht Frankfurt, that’s my top priority.’
