How does that work?
Well, it seems that Suarez would arrive on a €2m loan with the option Arsenal wanted, rather than obligation, and they can buy him for €20m next summer.

“#AFC have agreed to pay €2-3m loan fee for Suarez then €20-30m in summer as an obligatory fee to make the move permanent. However, deal is on standby as Barca want to use him in as many cup games as possible before letting him go.”

ARSENAL have agreed a deal to sign Denis Suarez on loan and then permanently in the summer, according to Guillem Balague.

Arsenal have made Suarez their No 1 target this month as Unai Emery looks to get his side up to speed for a top four challenge.

He worked with Suarez at Sevilla and hopes he can bring more fluidity to the wings at the Emirates.

Balague says a deal has been agreed between the player and the club, but that Barcelona are delaying things, so he can be used in the cup.

He tweeted: “On Denis Suarez. Arsenal agree to loan him for €2-3m and €20-25 in the summer for a permanent. It’s what Denis wants. But FCB not giving the green light yet (to use him in Cup?).”

Earlier today it emerged that Suarez’ girlfriend was in London sparking talk the deal was close to being announced.

However nothing has been confirmed yet. Arsenal are having to rely on loan signings this month due to their huge wage bill.

Arsenal cannot spend to due to FFP regulations after missing out on the Champions League for a second year in a row.

The wage bill is at an all time high and spending must be curbed until they got back into the top competition or sell some key players.

The Suarez deal will be a loan and then made permanent in the summer despite Barcelona insisting on doing a permanent deal this month.

Suarez was included in the Barcelona squad to face Levante last night - where they won 3-0 - and came on after 77 minutes for Ousmane Dembele.
