Arsenal Football Club's LGBT supporters group, ‘Gay Gooners' was established in early 2013 and now has more than 90 members.

Shortly after their launch, members of the group represented the Club at the London Pride event, becoming the first Premier League football club to do so. During the parade, the Gay Gooners carried a specially made banner which now sits proudly alongside others in the stadium bowl on matchdays.

The group is further evidence of Arsenal Football Club's ongoing commitment is the Arsenal for Everyone initiative, which aims to ensure that everyone associated with Arsenal feels an equal sense of belonging, regardless of regardless of age, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, sex or gender, sexual orientation, disability or religion.Through the initiative, Arsenal Football Club supports the Football v Homophobia campaign which is committed to making football a safe and inclusive environment for all its fans. To commemorate LGBT History Month in February 2013, the Club arranged a number of different community activities and invited representatives from LGBT organisations including Football v Homophobia, The Justin Campaign, Stonewall and Kick It Out to attend a match.The Club also hosted a special schools event in tandem with Camden and Islington LGBT Forum to discuss tackling homophobia through football and is proud to be the first Premier League football club to support London's bid to host the Gay Games in 2018, which aims to build on the positive legacy of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.Stewart Selby, coordinator of the Gay Gooners, said: "We are very much looking forward to developing our work further over the forthcoming season and beyond to help highlight the Club's ongoing efforts to promote equality and diversity in the game."

Theo Walcott has revealed Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez is so desperate to play football he doesn't even like having recovery days after matches.

The Gunners flyer scored twice during the 3-0 Premier League victory against Burnley at the Emirates, while Walcott made his first appearance for the club since injuring his knee in the FA Cup clash with Tottenham earlier this year.

And, speaking to talkSPORT, the 25-year-old claims the Chilean has added something different to the squad at the north London side.

"In training he doesn't even want to do recovery days," Walcott told Call Collymore, when asked about the former Barcelona man. "That's how much he loves football.

"All the guys have told him he needs to chill out because, at Christmas when all the fixtures come along, it's going to catch up with you.

"He doesn't care, he just wants to play and win. He's a good leader, and something that we haven't had in the Arsenal team before. He's a dream to play with."
