Nice Sat Evening everyone. I had earlier inquired on any member who has nailed Intelsat 17 @66deg East C band to tell me. This is the reason I had asked the question. By the way this is the link to the lyngsat page of interest Intelsat 17 at 66.0°E - LyngSat I do not know if this is the satellite this decoder is supposed to receive (I am not from India you know)

Its called a videocon decoder, Digital DTH Service. I got it from a client who wants to view most importantly the following channels Star Vijay, Star Plus, Sun TV, Sun Music and Aadithiya channels. I do not know the client very well and neither does he know me very well, but he trusted me with the decoder today to test if those important channels will work. The humble client says that it should be installed to a dish on 66E. I am guessing C band since there is no Ku band package that has a footprint in Asia leave alone India.

Its a beautiful piece of tech, drawback is that it does not have a HDMI port.
This is the satellites landmass beam @66E

Problem is that I do not own a 2.4m Primefocus dish to test the decoder.
Who in Nairobi or near Nairobi can help me to test this decoder before I install it at his place. I do not know why but I doubt that this decoder is a pay tv C band decoder.
In the first post of this forum kungu1 posted he nailed it with a 2.4m pf dish. Is it still nailable and do all tps come through.
PS I am free the whole of tomorrow Sun.
Good Morning,

With a brand new dish you can get slightly higher signal strength, as my dish is both old and has fallen off the roof 3 times but still kicking.
Turning dish back to Measat 3/3A
Blessed Sunday.

There is nothing on my side.
Frequency pliz. by the way what is your location?
Hallo, I got mine in Joburg and they didnt ask for tv license, I was taken to the shop by a friend. After testing in Nai, I had to sell it away coz of having to switch between that one, strong and Bein and issues of adding FTA channels. So far strong is serving well.
Am in TeamBein...it has never let me down..when it comes to the epl, it takes it to a whole new level, but you have to subscribe to enjoy and it comes married with the card. My experience with the Technicolor is limited, but all I can say is that if you want quality..Bein is the way, if you want fancy gadgetry technicolour is the one for you..:bump:For those who've used both the BeIN HUMAX IR-1000S and the TECHNICOLOR DSI722AJS; if either was offered at the same price, which one would you recommend (vis-a-vis image quality, interface, FTA - blind scan, multimedia options, channel zapping, interactivity, etc. I don't care about the about the STB design)? I've to make a decision before 12:00Hrs EAT tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any input!

Good Afternoon Ijumuso,
To lock on Intelsat 904 C-band frequencies, you require a 2.4 meter prime focus dish.
Still on the Eastern side you can get Africasat 1A @ 46° East on your 1.8 meter prime focus dish.
Frequency 3730 V Dvb-S2/8psk SR 30000 hosts two channels, namely Glow tv which is part of the OpenView tv Package from SA.
Also on, Nat Geo Gold open via biss key >>>Key FOX Sports,Sinema TV,Sinema TV HD,Nat Geo Gold |
