is it possible to nail yahsat with a 90cm dish in kitale? please also share the current muvi tv tp.

Good Morning,

Just rescanned on my end, TP is off.

also tried it from these sides of the Lake shores but failed.

Interestingly I also failed to Nab TP ( 11996Mhz) the one that has CNN,BBC Arabic and Fasion one HD

hi,
no its not easily receveable al least my location at the coast..... I,ve heard of only one person receiving Yahsat here with 8ft prime focus..... :-(

The trick is to first get the strongest tp on direction i.e K24's 11554Mhz . Once locked on that , slightly lower the dish and you will be on Yahsat.

Presently I am using a 120cm dish with a stargold lnb. But in a few days I will try and fix modified feed-horn made out of plastic funnel and foil to see if signal quality and strength improve .

Hi bro, let us know the cost of an activated OPENVIEW HD Decorder: am interested in one

Should be possible. At Nairobi (south east from Kitale) I receive it loud and clear with Eurostar 90Cm, Inverto Single LNB, Srt4922. Track using TP for Fox movies: 12168 H 27500 5/6, DVB-S/MPEG-2. After that you can blind-scan.
On a clear day, you should get stable Dubai One HD on 11823 H 27500 8/9, DVB-S2/QPSK, MPEG-4 at 63-65% quality.

I understand from forum members who have used OVHD decoder that it is locked to two TPs on SES5 namely 11996 H 27500 and 12073 H 27500, DVB-S2, MPEG-4. Its software does not allow one to add other satellites or even to scan FTAs on the SES5. Also, you may not use DiSEqC facility to add other satellites. Check previous posts.
Hence, it may not be a direct replacement for SRT4922.

However, OpenView HD, you'll get 18 channels, crystal clear digital quality pictures and sound, radio channels - and there will be more channels added.
The OpenView HD equipment prices start from R849 for consumers who already have any other satellite dish that they no longer use and require the decoder only. You will need to get it activated at S.Africa. Once it's activated, it is 'Free-to-view' forever.

There is a special OVHD Receiver which accept FTA Channels on the same satellite ie SES5.No option to add satellites.

This seems to be promising.
