African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Yeah. It works. I have installed for two people at Nairobi already; a Eurostar 90Cm plus Inverto Single LNB; able to nab all the TPs on 7WestA and 8WestA. Signal strength and quality very stable. However, no TPs on Nile201 comes up.
Sure with 90cm dish one has to compromise. I had to sacrifice mbcs for add.... i stop there.

I live in Morogoro Tanania where zuku kit goes for approximately 60usd. If u can trust me I can buy, activate and have it shipped to u. Besides, I can help u subscribe any time u need their service. Let me also know if canalsat decoders are available at ur end.
Unfortunately, canalsat is not available in nigeria

Hi FTA-NAsh, am a new member in this forum and need your help. Kindly pm me your contacts. My location is Nairobi. Thnx.

Hi Nash, on my end they are loud and clear. Using 159p

Seems like a bug or some ‘alien' from outer space has done ‘over-the-air-upgrade' on my SRT4922! Despite upgrading software from ‘157P' to ‘159P' last night, the bug continues to ‘chew' my D*i*g*i*t*u*r*k TPs with zeal. Apart from 10928 H 30000, more TPs have joined the $$$$ club; surprisingly their signal quality is good, hitting over 63% (threshold is 60% for SRT4922). Will try out more tricks this evening including deleting all 7E TPs and ‘re-blind-scanning', factory reset, and other clever gimmicks. Note: TPs on the 7East African beam are okay. Only the Europe-beam is being 'crafty'.

I am using a Eurostar 8x1 DiSEqC (Digital Satellite Equipment Control) switch and 7 of the 8 birds connected to it are behaving well: 130Cm Offset with 4 LNBs (7WestA, 5East, 7East (main LNB), 17East); 90Cm Offset with 1 LNB (8WestA); 90Cm Offset with 2 LNB (Yahsat-1A (main LNB) and NSS12); 65Cm Offset with 1 LNB (Intelsat20). All the Dishes are Eurostar Brand too.

All, according to ‘King of Sat' database, the Europe-beam of the new Eutelsat 3B satellite is active as from 5[SUP]th[/SUP] July 2014. Ref: Eutelsat 3B (3.0°E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat

In other News ........ EUTELSAT 3B has entered into service!
The Ku and Ka-band payloads are now operational. C-band to follow shortly. EUTELSAT 3B is a tri-band satellite designed to increase and diversify resources for markets in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and South America. With up to 51 transponders in Ku, C and Ka assembly, this single platform enables users to select the most relevant frequency band for different types of service. Ref: Satellites - EUTELSAT 3B - Eutelsat.

Eutelsat 3B is now fully fired up and providing commercial services at 3 degrees East. Overnight transfer of customer traffic onto the new satellite from the two Eutelsat satellites already at 3 degrees East (Eutelsat 3D and Eutelsat 3A) was completed in the evening of July 5. Having completed their missions at 3 degrees East, both satellites will now be redeployed.

Eutelsat 3D is already on its way to 7 degrees East, where it will be co-positioned with Eutelsat 7A to increase capacity and in-orbit security for customers providing DTH, professional video, data and telecoms services in Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean islands. It is scheduled to go into service at 7 degrees East in mid-July, at which point it will be renamed Eutelsat 7B. Eutelsat 3A, will be relocated to 8 degrees West until it is de-orbited later in 2014.

Commenting on Eutelsat 3B, Eutelsat chairman and CEO, Michel de Rosen said: "With the full entry into service of Eutelsat 3B we are further heightening the efficiency of our fleet and gearing new capacity towards our strongest growth markets. Clients providing services from our 3 degrees East and 7 degrees East orbital positions can now benefit from new satellites at the top end of the range in terms of flexibility, power and reach. Our thanks go to Airbus Defence and Space for building Eutelsat 3B and working closely with us during the satellite's first manoeuvres, and to Sea launch for a flawless launch."

Now lets keep our fingers crossed as we watch out for the African beam to show up! More Dishes / Multi-LNB set-ups coming on our roof-tops! Talk of 'ASAS Re-loaded'!

im watching tour of turkey....many homes have satelite dishes and from a closer look its like they are pointing to 7w

Am smelling a rat here as the new satellite will bring a review of the encryption systems on d***g**k bidding a sad goodbye to viewing of them goodies :/

Looking on the bright side the beams will be stronger as the aging satellite formely W3A I was able to lock on all the transponders of Europe B back in the days with a 130cm offset

Praying for good days to come as the months unfolds....kipping my fingers crossed for the fete 🙂

Wow thats an awesome setup you have. Upload a picture for the community. Also noted, you dont have any Primefocus dish.

Sorry cannot help with the 7E problem

Anyone with an STB which supports DQCAM protocal (qsat, xman etc) can get a dqcam account for all MBC HD at 7w and most of the ADD package at 7W. You can get the dqcam account on aliepress for only 900 kenya money. The view is renewable after 365 days.
So much more for very little.

Never compromised my 7W set up for the MBCs. Currently receiving CNN loud and clear on 11977 Tp (Nilesat 201). For the MBCs, Aljazeera America and KTV2, this is what I use.
First of all check out this contraption from a Local welding station

I got this all for free from a guy disposing his old Ds*v setup, including the original L-mount (90 deg arm) and the never seen before contraption. The dish came with a Twin LNB (made in Germany but which performed very poorly). I use the Eurostar P8-II LNB and the results are good. By the way this dish is larger than a normal Eurostar 90cm dish (planning to hunt 7E Europe B beam later). Also in the free package was a Multichoice UHF decoder.

Thats ingenious techdee.... I will spend more time on mine to improve signal.

Why did local TV pack up and set the uplink Satellite dishes, only for them not to show the Sabsaba rally live. I don't know who that big satellite dish tucked inside a lorry and covered with canvas belongs to. I can give him/her a lecture on satellite communication systems. I think it belongs to KTN Kenya because the truck is blue in colour
