African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Never compromised my 7W set up for the MBCs. Currently receiving CNN loud and clear on 11977 Tp (Nilesat 201). For the MBCs, Aljazeera America and KTV2, this is what I use.
First of all check out this contraption from a Local welding station

I got this all for free from a guy disposing his old Ds*v setup, including the original L-mount (90 deg arm) and the never seen before contraption. The dish came with a Twin LNB (made in Germany but which performed very poorly). I use the Eurostar P8-II LNB and the results are good. By the way this dish is larger than a normal Eurostar 90cm dish (planning to hunt 7E Europe B beam later). Also in the free package was a Multichoice UHF decoder.

U get cnn with this dish? I think its a 100cm dish.

Why did local TV pack up and set the uplink Satellite dishes, only for them not to show the Sabsaba rally live. I don't know who that big satellite dish tucked inside a lorry and covered with canvas belongs to. I can give him/her a lecture on satellite communication systems. I think it belongs to KTN Kenya because the truck is blue in colour

they used it to talk to their reporters during 1pm news and also foreign media normaly uses ktn when covering kenyan news

(1) Acquire one of the four decoders shown in the attachment below; (2) Point your dish to SES5 at 5 East The SES5 satellite beam covers Nigeria (and most of West Africa) too: FlySat SES-5 @ 5° East Beams (3) Subscribe; Check the following links: Home - Zuku ; Satellite - Zuku ; How to pay: How to pay - Zuku Make sure the decoder is activated for you in East Africa before it is shipped to you. (4) Sit back and enjoyView attachment 169365 View attachment 169366

Just saw a documentary on Discovery science about a war ship namely USNS General Hoyt S. VandenbergRetired in 1983,and struck from the Naval Vessel Register in 1993, she was to be sunk as an artificial reef originally intended for the spring of 2008, but instead was placed under Federal Lien to be auctioned off for payment recovery in December 2008 at Norfolk Federal Court. A group of banks and financiers from Key West bought the vessel off the auction block and it was docked at the East Quay Pier of Key West Harbor. The ship was sunk 27 May 2009 and is the second-largest artificial reef in the world, after the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany.

The troubling thing is it had not one not two but three massive satellite dishes 40Foot in diameterthat were used in missile radar tracking and they went down with it down under......such a waste of resource to our ASAS members:usa2::usa2::usa2:
