Suppose my SRT4922 is currently loaded with the latest version 159P software. If I now load the 'original' software from the Strong Website, say "SRT4922A_Old_GUI_134_140303.ssu (YouTube + new features)" or "SRT4922_134_140306" ….. Will it work or the decoder might get fried? Has any JF member tried this 'experiment'? Thanks.

The beauty of strong decoders is that they can be revived incase they are bricked. I have personally revived srt 4910, srt 4922,srt 4950M and srt 4950H. Infact some of them i bricked them intentionally:smile-big: just to experience if they can be resurrected. As for the software issue, it does not matter, any software downloaded be it from crosat or strong website both can work. So if you happen to load 159p version from crosat and later load it with version 134p from strong website, it will not brick the decoder.

sir you are highly welcome, there are lots of satellites you can track in nairobi, kenya ranging from nilesat, yahsat, ses 5. etc just ask any question on sats here and you will be answered immediately by the best gurus in satellites in Africa. I havnt posted here for a year now but i have been following the thread.

Thanks to Dejumbo's guidance, I was able to nab this bud last week in Kampala with an 8ft PF Dish using a SRT 4950H and I am enjoying the goodies.

Hi guys. On Saturday I tried to talk sense into Riwara electronics to import the so called OVHD decoders pre-activated. The man promised to look into the matter if viable. Hope he buys the idea.

I once sent an email to the OVHD to inquire about the decoders price pretending not to know the terms of sales and this is the reply i got from them.
What do you think members can we make the list and send it to them and see if they will do anything about it?

therefore the OpenView HD decoder cannot be sold in countries outside of
South Africa but this will be changed soon and we will keep you informed.

Abu Dhabi TV Network is abandoning its transmissions from Arabsat’s Badr 6 satellite, effective July 1st. The media group, in a brief statement June 27th, said that viewers could continue watching the company’s channels on Nilesat.
Abu Dhabi, part of Abu Dhabi Media, is a broadcasting and content giant in the region.
Owned by the government, it backs the Abu Dhabi Media Zone, the Middle East International Film Festival and the Image Nation production house.
In total, Abu Dhabi TV Network broadcasts 20 encrypted channels, and almost all in HDTV.
It is not yet clear as to the reasons behind the move. Arabsat has made no comment, and the situation isn’t helped by the news breaking on a Friday.
Arabsat’s Badr-6 satellite operates from 26 degrees East, Arabsat’s ‘hot spot’ and home to most of the region’s popular channels.

Are all the tps stable. I have tried this bird with 8 ft and srt 4922 with no success. Only 10722H 22000 pops up but the rest keeps flashing just. Amy advice?
